Yes, a friend of mine went to a book signing and said he was very nice. And that he spent a lot of time with fans. The Hulu documentary he did didn't help with his image though IMO. With him accusing that New York Magazine writer of destroying his career (and life) labeling that group as the "Brat Pack". It certainly didn't hurt them at the time. All continued to work. What was most pathetic was him reaching out to the others to get them to agree with him. I don't believe any did (!?). Some didn't even want to be involved in the documentary. Estevez looked miserable and downright angry during his taped conversation. Everyone has moved on from this except McCarthy. I'm so glad that writer didn't apologize to him.

Matt Dillon was a good under 30, 80s actor.

Though the Blob remake was fantastic.

I don't think any of the Entourage guys had a successful career after that show ended.

Not a fan of either Andrew McCarthy or Kevin Dillon but I thought they were both good in HBO's 1985 Catholic schoolboy dramedy Heaven Help Us.

I completely understand liking and disliking certain actors from whatever reasons, but it seems to me that once someone gets into the acting business and is able to sustain a career over decades, it's a tough sell to claim they can't act. Maybe someone gets their start from privilege or just cause they look so good, but eventually they have to be able act to keep working as they age.

If that is the case how did Seagal continue to do movies?

Mickey Rourke had his peak years in the 80's but would later self sabotage it with his behavior.

Now now, he pretty much stopped working after BELLY OF THE BEAST (2003). Yes, he continued to appear in numerous movies that no one's ever seen, but it's hard to tell if that was actually work or not. As I understand it, he was doubled pretty much any time his character needed to move at all. "Sit where Steven was sitting on the couch...yeah, that's right. Now stand up and cross the room. Good! That's a wrap! Get Steven back in here for a closeup at the door."

I would say that as an actor, he has a box that he fits in, and within the limitations required by that box, he is a passable actor. I didn't say if they can keep working, they are Danial Day Lewis, just that they must be able to do what is required of an actor well enough to keep getting hired to act, especially if it is someone who's star faded and they just keep plugging along.
