Yes. there were some Fathom events trailers before my showing started.

When did you join in the film?

15 minutes after the official start time. I remember it was during one of the quick cuts to a Jeff Daniels bit, and the conversation was about Reeve getting the Superman role. Sounds like I didn't miss too much perhaps.

If I recall correctly, you missed some raw footage of Reeve starting out as an actor. William Hurt was shown in the footage. And there was some old interview footage. And I think you missed the intro to Reeve's 3 kids. But you saw them enough later in the movie. But, overall you got the gist of the movie.

Zero trailers before my showing...at my local AMC. Just the new AMC ad, the Nicole Kidman ad, and right into the movie. There were three people who came in 20 minutes late (likely to skip the trailers) and I felt bad for them.

Wonderful movie...I heard today it's getting a wide release starting Oct. 11. Hopefully, it will get on enough screens to qualify for Oscar consideration.

A total emotional roller coaster. The Reeve family are amazing and you will see how amazing they are.

Since this is playing in super limited release and I don't expect anyone here to see this on Wednesday the 25th (it's last theatrical showing) I hope you all will make the time to see this when it hits Max later this year.

The movie is about a man who grew passionate about acting, a father, husband and a tragic love story. A beautiful film even though it ends on a really somber note with Dana Reeve's death. But, this family's legacy will live on.

fuck, I want this streaming now! Been watching the morning shows with his 3 kids and showing clips. Will is his spitting image. Love that he has a cameo in Gunn’s movie. Just looks amazing and could be Oscar winner.

Happened to be near a theater right before a showing tonight so I went. Very well done and emotional.

Well made, but in the end I kind of ended up liking Reeve less than I did before I watched it, which probably wasn't the intention of his children.

Why is that? I haven't seen the documentary yet.

Just seemed like kind of a selfish guy prior to the accident.

The kids mention that. His way of spending time with the kids was physical activity. After the accident he could only talk to them and they said he was more attentive than before out of necessity

The story about him going on a ski trip with friends, in another country no less, the day after his significant other gave birth to their first child is pretty telling.

I hope this gets a physical media release. I would love to add it to my Superman BD collection and my 4K edition of Superman the movie.

This X post is a few weeks old, but this will officially be on PVOD this Friday

No word yet on a Max release date, I would guess later in November or possibly December.

I heard a lot of things about Reeve before the accident (I had a contact at Paramount, once upon a time, and heard a lot of things second-hand). Not evil or even "bad" - just a lot of selfishness/self-centered stuff (which, honestly, isn't out of the norm for an actor). But I do think the accident changed him.

Always a weird category. Many great and popular docs never get nominated or even make the short list.

I can imagine this one being another Godzilla Minus One (albeit on a smaller scale) where there will be much internet nerd outage if this doesn't get nominated/win despite the fact that said nerds will have likely not seen any of the other movies and/or educated themselves on the relevant nominating procedures.

This and the Yacht Rock doc together should be enough to get me to do a 1 month sub.
