Re: Favorite vampire movie?
I like horror movies but I’ve never cared for the Vampire sub-genre. More often than not they bore me.
For strictly nostalgic reasons, I’ll go with The Lost Boys. I can’t tell you how many times I watched that during sleep overs and late summer nights in the late 80s and early 90s.

The Perfect Creature was a nice take.

Since most of the best ones have been already listed, let's throw in a few later Hammer films that managed to be interesting takes on the worn-out genre:
Twins of Evil
Vampire Circus
Legend of the Seven Golden Vampires
and especially,
Captain Kronos, Vampire Hunter
They were definitely trying to start a new franchise with that last one, too bad it failed at the box office. And Legend is Hammer horror and Shaw Bros. kung fu!

Of the tiles I didn't see listed, I'll add the horror-comedy "Vamp" (1986) and I still think "Interview With the Vampire" holds-up well.

^I'll give you *Madeline and Kate. I thought Ingrid looked a LOT hotter as a blonde (Countess Dracula)
*If you have the blu-ray, it was a surprise to hear (Via interview) the method on how quickly Madeline got herself, uh, well-endowed for that movie!

Indeed. Everyone jocks the English language one because of Bela Lugosi and whatnot, but it pales in comparison to the Spanish language version.

Re: Favorite vampire movie?

I feel broken for having forgotten Salem's Lot. And Blacula is so much better than it's kitsch title suggests. Marshall is makes a hell of a vampire lord.
Personally, I'd take the Collinson twins over Pitt and Smith. Twins and Circus were both decent, and I think enjoyed them more than any of the Lee Draculas. Try as I might, his films always leave me "meh". Brides of Dracula, OTOH...
Captain Kronos is something that I should love on paper. Clemens, Munro, swashbuckling heroics, and a novel take on vampirism. It starts off fresh, but by the climax I'm struggling to stay awake.
Funny, but I'd consider vampires as probably my least favorite horror subject, yet some of these are all time favorites.

Let the Right One In off the top of my head.
I am surprised I am the first to mention Innocent Blood, however. It is definitely up there on my list. The Don Rickles death scene alone seals the deal on this one.

Let the Right One In for sure. I loved Interview with the Vampire which I know wasn’t popular opinion.

I thought I remembered it did well, but also thought it wasn’t a critical darling.

Many of the book fans simply couldn't get over Cruise being cast as Lestat.

^ Didn’t Anne Rice herself say she wasn’t happy with Cruise being cast until she saw his performance and loved it?
I noticed Interview with the Vampire is streaming on Paramount +. I might have to give it another watch. I haven’t seen it since it was first released in VHS.
