Oh yea, I'll see that. I was interested when I saw this on the Sundance lineup. Looking forward to seeing the reviews coming out of the festival.

I saw this tonight, and it was a total blast. Can't recommend it enough. Where else are you going to see martial arts, gorgeous south Asian costuming and dance, and droll British humor? Lead actress Priya Kansara is an absolute delight. I might see it again on regular release.

I'm surprised. The trailer made it look awful. I guess I might give it a rent sometime.

I'm sure it helped that I saw it in a crowded theater, with everyone laughing at the jokes and cheering on the protagonist in her fight scenes.

Between this and Season 3 of “Never Have I Ever” I am apparently all-in on Indian and Pakistani culture.
This was a fun movie with likeable leads. I thought going in it was going to be more fantasy than “real” martial arts but the cast sold it. Got a real Scott Pilgrim vibe at times too.

Still pissed my local theatre showed the trailer a bunch but never actually played the movie (they did the same with Beau Is Afraid). I really wanted to see this on a big screen.
Actually, they even had a huge cardboard display.

It was not bad
Premature to say it could get Oscar consideration?
Maybe the start of a big career for Priya Kansara?
