Words cannot describe how amazing it is to see Janine in the uniform after all these years.

She’s doing a great job playing that air piano!

Re: Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire (2024, D: Kenan)

Asia seems to be jumping the gun on Blu-ray pre-orders these days. Some listings for MADAME WEB went up a few days back (as I noted in that thread), and now I stumbled across one for this film, supposedly for late May. You’d think they’d make distributors hold off until they knew whether the film was a hit or not:

https://www.buyoyo.com/buyoyo/eng/Pr...40874&prtype=0

I have a feeling it’s just certain companies trying to stay ahead of their competition over there. Buyoyo also has listings for Aquaman 2 and Wonka, which I don’t think have been announced over here yet.

I should have held off. I already pre-ordered Madame Web when I was in the Amazon with her mom when she was researching spiders right before she died.

Dunno about Wonka, but Aquaman 2 has been up for pre-order on Amazon since December. Even had its first price drop on Jan 05, 2024.

Im sure it will be awful but that looks like a lot of fun! Love how they have modern tech in it with the old Ghostubster mobile. And I love the 'cameo' at the end of the trailer. I know its not the same character from the too who was lovable but always fun to see him! (avoiding spoilers.)

Looks... mostly good.

Rudd quoting lines from the song was a little cringey, and I'd rather not see the mini marshamallow men again.

I'm also not really sold on having the Ghostbusters squad 2.0 be Spengler's grandkids, his daughter, and her boyfriend. Just seems a little to twee to have them be a sort of Brady Bunch.

I do hope that Venkman, Zeddemore, and Stantz have bigger roles this time around and not just cameos.

Quoting the song was a little cringey but I admit that I chuckled at it. I’d also prefer not to see the mini marshmallow men again and Slimer for that matter. Janine answering the phone is what made me roll my eyes though. She answered it like that one time because she was pissed off but now I guess that’s just how she answers the phone all the time.

Venkman seeing Janine in uniform for the first time was cool though.

Walter Peck (William Atherton) doesn't seem like he will be much of a villain as an old man.

He seems spot-on to me.

And quoting the song? Well it was established in 2 that the song exists in their world and is iconic, so it makes sense.

Looks fun. I will be there week 1.

But, the "Bustin makes me feel good" line Oh boy that was too on the nose.

I don’t know, maybe there’s no joy left in my heart but it’s hard to get excited for yet more nostalgia porn and the fourth “eh” looking sequel to one great movie 40 years ago… callback! Callback! And, repeat!

Remember, Peck wasn't a villain in the original. The Ghostbusters were using unlicensed nuclear-powered weapons and storing massive amounts of unstable energy in a DIY containment unit in the middle of a New York city neighborhood. He worked for the EPA, for god's sake

I enjoyed Afterlife so I'll probably give this one a shot as well. You can definitely see the influence of the 80s cartoon in the ghost and creature design.

Re: Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire (2024, D: Kenan)

I still think it looks fun! Nice to see a second movie with the old/new cast, I'm sure part of the Afterlife pitch was the potential for additional sequels and I'm glad they were able to keep going. Sure, some nostalgia but it's also not a retread of the first film or taking place in an empty town this time.

In case you have money to burn, AMC will have a ghost trap popcorn vessel for $39.99

The Dune exclusive cup has set a precedent. So, regarding the Slimer collectible, I must ask: Can you fuck it?

Any inanimate object is fuckable if you're brave enough?
