Of course not.

For most people there would be any easy answer to this question. It's my initial question that is more difficult; How far is one willing to go to uphold one's righteous principles?

What righteous principles? An actor's job is to make you believe and feel a certain way when you see them on screen. Unfortunately, there are many things that happen to them off screen that can affect people's view of them and thus their enjoyment of their works. That seems natural to me. Nobody is burning their Will Smith DVDs because of what he did.

^ Although, if you tossed After Earth on the fire, no one would blame ya.

I don't think you could prove in a court of law that you did it because of what happened at the Oscars, though...

I wish I weren't so masochistic that comments like this are pushing me towards watching it.

You may or may not burn your Will Smith DVDs but the theme of this thread is about the principles and obligations we should (or shouldn't) adopt as consumers of art which was made by those whose actions and words are deemed morally questionable.

It's easy to take a stance against a public figure in the safety of social media and condemn their actions but the hypothetical question I posed makes it a much more personal dilemma.

I was about to say the exact same thing. I would ask for more elaboration but it all boils down to different people have different moral logistics.

I think you mean condemn but again, you got an item from someone who's morals came into question later, you're not throwing away the item but you won't necessarily seek out more work from this person. What's the difference? I'm not sure what the gotcha is here.

If he'd served his time and the job went well, sure.

I'm watching Ken Burns' Baseball. On the subject of bad behavior by players there is a comment

"You can't boo a home run"
