I'm in my 40s. Spider-verse was not only an amazing Spider-man film, but one of the best animated films I've seen. Very deserving of the Oscar.

Re: Rank the Spider-Man movies.

That's a really bizarre thing to me. So just because a movie is animated it can't tell a great story and have great performances? To each their own of course, but I thought we passed the point where animated movies were dismissed as "kiddie cartoons".

I love some animated movies. The Incredibles is probably one of my Top 10 All Time Favorite movies.

Into The Spider-Verse didn't work for me. I found Miles Morales, as portrayed in the movie, to be utterly boring and uninteresting. And I didn't like the takes on the other characters at all. Almost nothing in that movie worked for me. I didn't hate anything about it, but I didn't like anything about it, either. The movie was completely MEH for me.

That's fine, you watched it but didn't like it. I was referring to the other post which came across sounding like cartoons=bad.

Re: Rank the Spider-Man movies.

My immediate reaction to Into The Spider-verse was all superhero movies should be animated. For me it captured the spirit of the comic book medium far better than any movie featuring a bunch of grown men in doofy costumes in front of a green screen.

That said, Spider-Man 2 is the best.

I just started a marathon. The original really still is fun and deserving that it got the ball rolling.

Re: Rank the Spider-Man movies.

1. Spider-Man 2
2. Spider-Man: No Way Home

3. Spider-Man: Far From Home
4. Spider-Man
5. Spider-Man: Homecoming
6. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse
7. Amazing Spider-Man
8. Spider-Man 3
9. Amazing Spider-Man 2

Spider-man 2 is still tops in my book. Not as cool or visually stunning as the newer spiderman's, and definitely more quirky given Raimi's style, but just so much heart. Might be my favorite comic book movie of all time.

It's just a dumb take. People asked for clarification and if this is the answer we get, then don't be surprised if your opinion gets devalued.

So, to clarify (and because I'm now curious) - have you watched The Incredibles? If not, will you ever watch it?

It's animated. (Not really a kids' movie, thus it's huge success and popularity across the board, but it's still animated.)

No. Not even close.

I know it's popular and people like it, but the characters in Spider-Verse are not nearly as well fleshed out, nor are they as good as the ones in The Incredibles. The Incredibles also has a better story.

But if you prefer Spider-Verse, that's fine. We all have movie preferences that are in the minority or are unpopular in one way or another.

I'm not even sure I believe it myself, just stirring the pot.
It's close though!

And? Did you like it? (Keeping in mind that it really isn't a kids' movie, as there is a ton of stuff in the movie written for adults that kids wouldn't fully get.)

Re: Rank the Spider-Man movies.

Still a weird take. There's plenty of good animated movies. Doesn't have to be all kids movies.

But then again there's still a large percentage of people who won't watch foreign language movies..

Re: Rank the Spider-Man movies.

Filmmakers should get with the program and make claymation superhero movies, these days.
