I liked Prometheus, but really dislike Covenant.

I still haven't seen Covenant. I didn't care for Prometheus so I wasn't in a hurry and then all the bad reviews came in.

^ I'm right there with you. Like many, I love the first two movies. The rest were so so and AvP never happened. Prometheus and Covenant both had their moments and in the end, I did enjoy them.

Interesting that this latest installment will be completely stand-alone and if true, must have been compelling enough to interest Scott. Not sure how I feel about it being made for Hulu.

Coupled with Noah Hawley's planned Alien TV series, there's more to look forward to.

I wonder if it's the page that shows revenue from Alien related merchandising. They still make various Alien figures and whatnot to this day, even without current movies.
Could be like how the merchandising for Cars makes more for Pixar/Disney than the movies did.

Why have Shaw survive at all in the first film only to have her offed before the follow-up even began? Plus she was the only human character to make it off that planet. It was more than balls, it was lazy writing and pretty much a big fuck you to the fans who wanted to see a continuation of that storyline. I also felt bad for Noomi Rapace. Who I really wanted to return.

EXCLUSIVE: Momentum is revving up on 20th Century Studios new Alien movie as sources tell Deadline Cailee Spaeny is in talks to star. Fede Alvarez is directing with Scott Free producing.

20th Century had no comment.

Not much is known about the pic other than the iconic ferocious race of alien beings called Xenomorphs will be front and center, again reigning terror against the humans that cross their paths. 20th Century and Scott Free made this a top priority after hearing Alvarez’s pitch, and after a recent script was delivered, things only gained speed in getting this film in front of cameras by early 2023.

While execs are going through their process on other cast members, Spaeny has been the top choice for the lead role for some time, after several meetings with producers and Alvarez.

Spaeny is set to play Priscilla Presley in Sofia Coppola’s Priscilla opposite Jacob Elordi as Elvis. She also has the Alex Garland pic Civil War and was recently seen in How It Ends. She is repped by WME and Sugar23.

Not familiar with the actress and when I saw what she looked like I got some YA vibes. I wonder if this is an original script on an adaptation of , which is an awesome book.

I'd like to see a movie around the colonial marines. Since Hudson asks if this is 'another bug hunt?', what other missions have they gone on?

I love Isabela Merced, but will only remain cautiously optimistic about this.

Dora the Explorer vs. Alien wasn’t a crossover matchup I was expecting but I’ll take it!

Can one also hope that Alejandro Gillick will come to Dora's aid against the xenomorphs? :D

Yeah, they're definitely making something similar to "Alien: Echo."

Alien: Awakening? That got cancelled a while back. Then Ridley Scott appropriated the title for a second Prometheus sequel that never materialized. Then we were supposed to get a TV series, but now we're getting this movie instead (or we're getting both?).

Revive it. Sigourney Weaver sounded excited about it.

Kind of wish they do Dark Horse Aliens:Earth War to the screen. I enjoyed the comic series.

Both. There's this film by Fede Alvarez and the series on HULU from the Fargo series and Legion creator.

The new Alien feature from filmmaker Fede Alvarez has found its chest-bursting cast.

David Jonsson, Archie Renaux, Spike Fearn and Aileen Wu have joined Cailee Spaeny in 20th Century Studios’ latest installment of the science-fiction horror franchise.

Alvarez, who is known for his tense and sometimes splatter-filled flicks such as Don’t Breathe and the remake of Evil Dead, is directing the project that begins production in Budapest March 9. He also wrote the script with frequent collaborator Rodo Sayagues.

Plot details are being kept in a cryochamber, but as opposed to the other movies which focused on adults in corporate, militaristic and scientific roles, this now-ninth installment of the franchise will focus on a group of young people. On a distant colony, the group finds themselves in a fight for their lives with the titular alien, a creature known as a Xenomorph, whose race propagates by implanting eggs into people’s stomachs via face-huggers, with the juveniles eventually violently bursting out of the host’s chest.

Spaeny leads the cast in a role that is being compared to the one played by Sigourney Weaver in the initial Alien movies. Isabela Merced is also in the cast.

Ridley Scott, who directed the original Alien and produced and directed the series entries Prometheus and Alien: Covenant, is producing via his Scott Free banner along with the company’s Michael Pruss.

Brent O’Connor (Bullet Train), Elizabeth Cantillon (Persuasion) and Tom Moran (The Donut King) are executive producing.

British actor Jonsson was one of the stars of Industry, a financial drama made by BBC/HBO. He is repped by CAA and U.K.’s United Agents.

Renaux is one of the stars of Netflix’s fantasy series Shadow and Bone and has appeared in recent movies such as The Greatest Beer Run Ever, Catherine Called Birdy and Morbius. He is repped by The Artist Partnership, Luber Roklin Entertainment and Arjun Rose in the U.K.

Fearn had a notable 2022, appearing not only in Matt Reeves blockbuster The Batman, but also in the awards season darling Aftersun.

Wu is an actress and producer who is repped by Webster Talent Management / Agent Helen Campbell.

Spaeny, who appeared in Mare of Easttown, is repped by WME, Sugar23 and Adam Kaller at Hansen Jacobson.

Ridley Scott needs to be George-Lucased away from the franchise.

What the hell else is there to do with the xenomorph? It’s a guy in a black rubber suit. What the hell else could you possibly do with this that we haven’t already seen? What??

Probably nothing new, but I did like every Alien movie, although there wasn't a really good one after Aliens.
