The early IMAX screenings tonight that cost anywhere from $25 to 30 per showing were all sold out. That’s a promising sign interest is high.

Good detail point. I'm in the $125m domestic / $225m worldwide group.

I assume domestic, based on the options given. But, it would be good for the OP to clarify and put that in for the future (if they make something similar).

Industry projections for the Robert Pattinson movie stand at $115M-$125M domestic, and another $110M-$120M overseas for a global reach of $225M-$245M+.

Last time I did a prediction, I was low. I think the runtime hurts it a tad. I'll go $140 m

The three hour runtime means less screenings. But there's certainly huge demand. Gonna say $150 mill.

The benefit of opening this in March is that there really isn’t that much else playing that needs to take up a bunch of screens. My local AMCs (12-14 screens) will have this playing about 20 times a day this weekend.

I think this wont make 100m. Unless its a really, really good movie.

Movie quality rarely effects opening weekend (and this is for opening weekend gross), unless critics hammer it - and it currently sits at 86% critically (about 200 reviews)

Re: Box Office Showdown (3/4-3/6) The Batman

Robert Pattinson’s pitch-black superhero adventure “The Batman” collected a mighty $128.5 million in its box office debut, marking the best opening weekend of 2022 by a landslide. But what is more impressive: it’s only the second pandemic-era movie to cross the $100 million mark in a single weekend, a feat first achieved by “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” which launched last December to a historic $260 million.

It's Sunday morning. An entire day of the weekend yet to go.

They always release estimates for the entire weekend on Sundays (sometimes even Saturdays) that tend to be pretty accurate.

I just want to make sure that the actual weekend total (not an estimate) is used for whoever wins the $100 Target gift card for guessing correctly in the thread.
