Damn, RIP. Just got the Ghostbusters box set and haven't watched yet. Now it's time to crack it open.

Re: RIP: Ivan Reitman - Dead at 75

So sad. I just watched Ghostbusters: Afterlife last weekend, I kept thinking how proud he must have been that his son carried on that legacy.

And the original Ghostbusters is an absolute classic!

I lost track of the production. Did he film Triplets or is it still stuck in development hell? I imagine if production hasn’t begun it’s dead in the water now.

Arnold was on Kimmel last week and said they were going to start shooting later this year.

Man that sucks.

Triplets would be a good one for Catherine Reitman if they proceed and keep it in the family.

Wow this was unexpected. Guess he died suddenly. He does appear in newly filmed footage on the new Ghostbusters 4K set talking about certain scenes with his son. I wonder if that might be his last appearance on camera.

Anyways, an amazing career and an influential filmmaker. RIP

Even his early producing work is impressive. I'm sure David Cronenberg benefitted from having Reitman produce his first couple of films, Shivers and Rabid.

So sad - he was one of a kind.

I'll do a Ghostbusters-Stripes-Dave rewatch this weekend in his honor.

Re: RIP: Ivan Reitman - Dead at 75

Shit- I was actually watching either the first or second Ghostbusters the moment the news broke, first thing I saw after deciding not to stay up and watch the “chick version” next.

Man, what a great filmmaker he was. The older I get, the younger 75 seems.

He really was a great talent behind the camera.

I'm going to be honest: I thought he was already dead.

Touching tribute from his son, though.

probably confusing him with Harold Ramis who appeared in many of his films, but he was promoting Afterlife with his son a bunch, so he was around and looked good to me. so sad another in 2022. too soon imo.

Really sad to hear it. Grew up watching so many of his films. A truly great funny guy who gave us some really classic movies.

Sad news. One of my favorite directors. Love Stripes, Ghostbusters, Dave, Legal Eagles, Twins, etc.

He also produced William Fruet's Death Weekend, which is very good (still waiting for a domestic Blu-ray release). Cannibal Girls, unfocused as it is, has moments of greatness. I don't care about any of his comedies/Hollywood films.

one of the best comedy directors bar none. He made some of my absolute favorite movies growing up. A true loss to the world.
