The trailer sort of reminds me of Mystery Road which I recommend to everyone...and the sequel Goldstone and TV series Mystery Road.

Bana’s career never took off like I thought it would. I thought he was really going to explode into leading man territory around the time Hulk was released. He sort of took a back seat and only comes out now and then to give a solid performance in low key movies that no one sees.

They made a sequel to this that comes out soon in Australia. I don't see any info on US distribution.

IFC picked up the sequel.
Opening in theaters May 10.

I didn't think the Force of Nature book was nearly as engaging/effective as The Dry. Let's hope it makes a better film!

I haven't seen the first movie, yet, though, so I'll have to track that down.I mentioned this elsewhere, but there is supposed to be a fourth season of the tv series coming out this year. Season 3 was a prequel, with a younger Jay Swan played by a different actor. I like Pedersen as Swan, but the younger guy does a good job in the role and has a decent physical resemblance to Pedersen. The new season is going to be a continuation of the prequel timeline.

About time this had some movement stateside. The first film is awesome and I own the BD. It's some straight up "Outback Noir." Glad they made a sequel.
