If nothing else it will have some impressive looking visuals and make up

What have you seen from Zombie’s other camcorder quality movies makes you think this will have impressive visuals?

Re: The Munsters (D: Rob Zombie)

I thought Zombie impressed with The Devil's Rejects, but nothing else he has done has even come close to being "decent." His Halloween movies, while admirable for trying something different, ultimately failed to deliver and totally seemed to lose what made the original so good, and I absolutely hated The Lords of Salem. Haven't bothered to watch what he has done since then...The only good thing I can say is that his Blu-Rays are usually pretty loaded and even when I don't like the movie itself, I find the behind-the-scenes stuff pretty interesting...But, no, I am in no way looking forward to this movie, and have no desire to seek it out.

Jeez, looks like the studio gave Zombie full casting approval on this. So of course he chose his wife to play Lily Munster. :|

I've always wanted to see The Munsters go full white trash, use "fuck" in every sentence, kill people in sadistic and gruesome ways, and talk about "pussy" at the dinner table.

Re: The Munsters (D: Rob Zombie)

For those who were wondering if Rob Zombie‘s The Munsters would be more “Rob Zombie movie” or more “Munsters movie,” well, those questions have been answered today.

Zombie’s The Munsters has received an official “PG” rating for…

“Macabre and suggestive material, scary images and language.”

Jeff Daniel Phillips is playing Herman Munster and Sheri Moon Zombie is playing Lily Munster in Zombie’s movie, with Daniel Roebuck co-starring as Grandpa Munster.

Richard Brake (31, 3 from Hell) is playing Dr. Henry Augustus Wolfgang. Catherine Schell (“Space: 1999,” The Return of the Pink Panther) is playing “Zoya Krupp the gypsy queen.”

“Lost” actor Jorge Garcia is playing new character Floop, described by Zombie as “Dr. Wolfgang’s hunchback assistant and Herman Munster’s best buddy.”

Zombie is directing the film for Universal Home Entertainment, and it’s possible that The Munsters may end up being a Peacock exclusive. That last bit has not been confirmed.

That’s interesting.

Honestly, I think I’m more interested now.

Wait, I thought this was going to be released in theaters. -_-

I guess no chance of Lily flashing her boobs. Maybe her butt? ;)

I don’t know. I think black and white should be the way to go.

Between the tv monster family retros, I think Wednesday will be better. Haven't enjoyed a Zombie movie since Devil's Rejects.

Never really watched the show and I’m not a fan of Rob Zombie in general, but that might be okay. I’d at least consider streaming it.

Re: The Munsters (D: Rob Zombie)

I've said this in other threads about Zombie films, but if he'd just work with other (preferably established) screenwriters instead of penning his own material, most of his films would be a lot better. He's got the visual chops, no doubt, but I find the screenwriting lacking in almost all of them. Hard to tell for sure from this teaser, and clearly the original show was formative to him, but you have to wonder if he's capable of bringing any real levity to it.

I understand this is getting a day and date release on Peacock and theaters - like they did with Halloween Kills last year.

If one wants to familiarize themselves with The Munsters all of the episodes are on Peacock to stream.

Typically I’d say there’s not enough to go on yet but that does look bad.

The acting on the B&W intro where they’re going through the door looks like it was done on the first take. The non-verbal, physical acting looks like it would be something a 1st grader would do.

Re: The Munsters (D: Rob Zombie)

Yikes, this looks like amateur hour. Also, no Eddie or Marilyn?

I wish Universal would have made this fifteen years ago with Brad Garrett as Herman, Catherine Zeta-Jones as Lily and Richard Kind as Grandpa. At least I could see those actors nailing these parts... with a different director, of course.

Yeah that was a really odd choice. It looked really stupid. I’m a big fan of the tv show, so I was never really behind this adaptation in the first place. He’s made some really terrible films. I mean how much worse could it be?

Fucking hell. This looks way worse than I could have ever imagined.

I think it looks fine, but not exactly a lot to go off of there.

They’re recreating the season 2 intro, but badly. Herman Munster especially.
