Re: The Running Man (2025, D: Edgar Wright) S: Powell, Brolin
I thought it was noted early on that this would adhere more to the actual book than Arnold's version. I like the original movie, and am looking forward to this one as well. Preview without sound looked good.

Was a bit hesitant at first but saw Edgar Wright directing and will give this one a shot.

I agree the trailer was edited poorly but a lot of it still had that playful feel of Wright’s best movies. |

Baby Driver is an awesome movie and didn't even know Wright directed this till this thread. I've seen it probably 4 times already.

Looks like this is getting pushed back a week to avoid competition with Predator Badlands.
Kind of a bummer for me since I’m in Los Angeles the original weekend and was planning on seeing it in IMAX or 4DX or whatever fancy thing exists. |

I'm not a fan of the "original".
The trailer looks okay... It could end up being anything. I wouldn't mind the WOW effect in the sense of "Yes, the trailer was solid, but the film was a positive surprise in the end"... |

I like this poster. Some might think it’s too busy, but it has a very retro look.

Re: The Running Man (2025, D: Edgar Wright) S: Powell, Brolin
Today’s email from TIFF – which runs year-round, despite the festival proper only being in September – promoted an advance screening of this with Wright in attendance for an interview/discussion afterward, apparently sold out several days ago. Not sure if this might be part of some tour he’s doing in other cities as well? It’s only a couple of days before it opens wide, so maybe this is the last stop. Or maybe he’s working here on his next movie or something. I’m keen to see the movie, but can wait for home viewing, and these kinds of things for new movies aren’t really my thing.
