Don't think the film was ever meant to look nice and crisp. I watched it in 4K HDR and forgot that it was in actual 4K. That's the joke.

I think that some of this movie was written on the fly, especially in the latter half when it apparently took place around February/March when the pandemic just starting blowing up. I don't think Cohen and his writers had a complete script going into production, hence you saw there were so many writing credits.

Enjoyed this a lot, which surprised me as I lost any enjoyment from Borat/SBC ages ago.
I think this did a superior job of merging the "prank" stuff with the fictional story scenes. The inability to balance the two is why I didn't care much for Bruno.
Still, I give overwhelming credit to Borat's daughter. I don't remember the last time I enjoyed a character/performance more. She was amazing, and the joy she radiates in each scene was infectious. I will cry if I don't get to see her talents used in more stuff.
According to Wikipedia: "As of October 2020, Sacha Baron Cohen is lobbying for Bakalova to be nominated for the 93rd Academy Awards in 2021"

He’s also now helping out with the Kazakhstan tourism industry, sort of.

I thought the movie was very funny. Bitter as hell which is exactly how I'm feeling. I've already voted early in person.

Holy shit. Those yokels are a scary bunch.
What happened with the funny golf coach bit in the trailer? Did that not make the final movie, or did I just miss it somehow?

Jeanise and Judith were two, truly nice people and they made me feel good about the world... everyone else was an asshat who should be emabarassed whether they were "misled" or "didn't read the small print". The debutante thing was creep AF and should be outlawed as incestuous.

The two rednecks were pretty damn nice, letting a stranger stay with them for days and then driving to that event to find his daughter (depending on how much of that was real - the obvious insert shot when one of them gave the daughter the book at the rally was probably a stand-in). Sure they were dumbasses for believing conspiracies.

Borat Supplemental Reportings Retrieved From Floor of Stable Containing Editing Machine is coming soon. We’d tell you more, but that title has us low on available characters.

Which makes me think it was staged or they were actors and that guy at the fax store probably just wanted money and not offend the customer and lose money and did not care what was written in those messages or faxes.
It was ok but still I don't see how this movie got Oscar consideration.
Surprised Borat has gotten a free pass these days in these cancel culture times.
