I watched this on a plane and loved it. I didn't know why I loved it or even really understood it. I've since watched so many YouTube videos explaining it and understand it a little now but I still really enjoy the movie.

So, I love Nolan but I would to sit down with him and ask him what the hell he was thinking when he made this. Can someone please tell me how the machine built for going in reverse affects the entire world outside of it??? Like, how in the hell does walking through a turnstile affect the entire known world once you get out of it? Do any of you know the explanation for this?

How the hell does walking through a turnstile make walking or driving on a highway go in reverse?? How does simply walking trough that machine make everything outside of it reverse??? How does affect anywhere you would go on the planet???

Anything that goes through the turnstile reverses its movement through time. I get if someone dislikes or can’t suspend their disbelief for that central premise, but I don’t get your criticism. If the premise of the movie was that everyone who went through it became twice as fast, I don’t think you’d complain about them being twice as fast whether they’re walking or running or in a different country. It’s just part of the primary conceit of the story.

The turnstile causes the people who go through it to start moving through time in the opposite direction. The outside world isn't changed, the people who went through the turnstile are changed. From their perspective, the world appears to be moving in reverse because they themselves have been reversed. That's the premise. It's all nonsense, really, but there is at least some internal logic to the story.

I think John David Washington has been pushing Nolan to do a sequel for this as well.

I'd be interested if it was some kind of recut, but I have no need to see it again on the big screen.

The only thing I remember about Tenet was that I rented a movie theater for me, my wife and our two kids to see it during the pandemic. It was like $120 or something but was worth it for the memories and just to get out of the house.

I only watched Tenet once. It was late 2020 in a theater with about 20-25 other people wearing a mask and socially distanced. Honestly, I don't really remember much about it.
I remember Nolan was pissed about how WB handled the release of this. I don't know what could have been done. A lot of people were scared to go out into public in late 2020 and through probably most of 2021.
The January/February lull from the strikes is really hitting with all these re-releases.

The re-release will also include a Dune prologue, which is probably the main factor in why this is coming back out, from Warner Brothers’ perspective. Other reasons include riding the wave of the upcoming limited re-release of Oppenheimer, and probably to appease Nolan a bit.

Still think it's a very entertaining creative movie that's always fun to think about with some really inventive action scenes. I think the weakness is in the casting of Washington who feels light weight in the role and Kenneth Branagh doing a shouty Boris Badenov is hard to take seriously. Also marred by Nolan's muffled dialogue which for such an intricately plotted movie gets very frustrating.
