That was an "open-matte" movie that wasn't framed properly at the theater- that's one mistake that can't be made with digital now, but digital still can't beat film done right.

The Invisible Man. It was a choice between that an Onward, making Onward the first Pixar film I haven’t seen in a theater since probably Toy Story 2.

You saw The Good Dinosaur in the theater? I thought everyone skipped that one.

Yup, I slipped in that one and Cars 3 towards the end of their runs, to keep my streak.

Is that the one where Palpatine forces Rey to eat bantha poop?

Last one I saw was Jurassic Park back when it was re-released in 3-D. Probably the last movie i'll ever see in a theater. Rather fitting since it was the first one I saw in theaters back when i was 5 when it first came out.

Wow. So you haven't stepped foot into a theater since 2013? Crazy.

If you've read any of his past posts, he despises the theatrical experience.

But, I mean seriously, 2013? Who cares 7 years ago? This is a thread about the last movie you saw recently before theatres shut down due to Covid. Not something from 1 year ago, 2 summers ago, 3 years ago or worst yet 7 years ago? why even mention it if you don't even go the movies or like going?

Re: What was the last movie you saw in theaters before Covid?

Took the family to see Onward the weekend before the lockdown happened (early March?). Even then I was starting to get nervous about the virus that was surely heading our way. I recall joking that this might be the last movie we go out and see for a long time. I had no idea of how right I would be.

Onward is the only Pixar movie I haven't seen in theaters. Actually Monster's University. Forgot about that one. Other than that I've seen every single other Pixar movie in the theaters.

It sounds like such a trivial thing in the background of a pandemic but It REALLY would have sucked if this happened exactly a year ago. I know it's trivial but it would have been unfathomable to not see EG in the theaters on opening day. And then to finish out the year with wrapping up the Skywalker saga. Really trivial but still personally I'm happy it didn't happen in 2019.

Re: What was the last movie you saw in theaters before Covid?

It feels like a lifetime ago, but pretty sure it was Impractical Jokers: The Movie. Now with Covid, and a newborn, it’s probably going to be some time before I set foot in one again.
