Great choice. I'm happy that Empire emerged from the special editions practically unscathed. When I went to it last week, I was delighted to see this version has now removed
Spoiler:
the Emperor's scream dubbed onto Luke falling down the shaft in cloud city

I believe that change was only in the '97 special edition. Every version since has had it removed.

One of my local theaters is offering this deal and Empire is my favorite movie of all time, but I just can't do it. It might be the "least bastardized" of the OT, but I decided a long time ago that it's original versions or nothing when it comes to SW for me. I just harbor too much resentment for the changes, no matter how minute they might seem.

You are sooooo cool for finding this. I took a shot of the image and am saving it. Wow. Just wow. That would've been heaven back in the day...I would love to see these at the drive-in...Thank you for digging these up....You rock....

^ It looks like the order of the kids hanging onto that stalactite in that Goonies pictures is different than the more common poster. In that newspaper ad it looks like Data is hanging first and in the other posters it’s Brand.

Yes. Since back then successful movies could play for months, the advertising department made variations on the ads so they wouldn't look stale being the exact same picture in the newspaper week after week.

Here's another one with Mikey:

Looks like they drew one with each of the main Goonies featured hanging from the stalactite.
