Such terrible news. I almost feel bad when I think about her my first thought of her is her boobs in Mischief and then that is what kills her. Breast cancer is EVIL. I have lost a few family members to it and it is just awful from so many many angles. Loved her in Sky High which I feel is criminally underrated as a movie as well. RIP

She was also in one of my childhood favs, Run with Patrick Dempsey which found out its streaming on Amazon after I searched and bought foreign DVD. Always cute as hell. Still was in later years.

ABC News in NY when reporting on her death, said she was in over 60 productions, but most recognized in Jerry Maguire, Twins and Mischief! Never thought I’d hear an actor be known for a semi-raunchy semi-sex comedy from the 80’s.

Her role in Jerry Maguire seemed fairly small. I’m surprised that’s what a lot of people associate her with. She had a much more significant role in For Love of the Game which I associate her with more.

Of course, I’m probably not one to talk since I mostly know her from The Experts which I’m not sure anyone even remembers.

Re: Kelly Preston dead at 57

I think Jerry Maguire was her most successful and the Oscar for Cuba and all. Seems reasonable, even though small part. It was pretty funny. For Love of Game was a bomb, I believe.

Wow, totally forgot about Run and Space Camp -- and Mischief of course was a childhood favorite.

She was in a couple mid-90s movies I saw back when I rented VHS movies pretty much every Tuesday (when they came out back then). Citizen Ruth with Laura Dern (not a bad movie actually) and Love is a Gun (B-movie schlock starring Eric Roberts).

I see she also had small parts in Christine, 52 Pick-Up and Amazon Women on the Moon. Will have to revisit those.

One of her scenes in Jerry Maguire was... quite memorable.

I think I've enjoyed her performances in every movie I've seen her in. She's a very likable on-screen presence.

I saw Mischief awhile ago and thought it was a pretty good movie.

Mischief was pretty graphic for it's time. I recall the sex scene with Doug McKeon and Kelly was quite intimate.

She was always a hot piece of ass and still looked great in her 50s.
Definite MILF material in her early 40s in the Maroon 5 video. I think that's the last time I saw her in anything.

[QUOTE][Not to make any assumptions, and I know Travolta’s tweet indicated she was working with doctors to treat her cancer, but I wonder if Scientology prevented her from seeking certain treatments that could have done more to save her. I can’t quite remember but I thought Scientology had certain riles about what medical/mental health treatments one of their members could receive./QUOTE]

It would be a tragedy if her life could have been extended if they did not take the proper medical precautions and the news about her death came out so suddenly and they kept her cancer diagnosis hidden seems fishy.

I did not know she was in Gotti but I don't remember any of that movie,

Its pretty graphic now. Sex in TV shows and movies is not as comfortable with nudity in sex as they were. There is a lot of nudity in the Mischief scene

ha that’s funny and stupid. She goes full frontal and they are worried about showing panties on cover art. Too bad.

That was one of those cases were the VHS showed more nudity than the theatrical release and DVD if I'm not mistaken.

Dvd and versions on pay cable show the nudity. Only 1 theatrical presentation I believe.

Sometimes the old 1.33 : 1 TV ratio showed more nudity than the 1:85 theatrical aspect. Titanic for one. National Lampoon's Vacation. There were several others.

Agree, I love that movie. I heard the news of her passing early this morning while getting ready for work and was really shocked and saddened. She was such a natural beauty. And from what I saw of her during interviews and TV appearances, she seemed like a really nice person. Everyone already mentioned all of her memorable films and performances, she was also really cute in "A View from the Top". Not a great movie, I know. But it was fun. And Mike Meyers was hilarious.

I wonder what kind of marriage they had. How much was real and how much was a sham. Also I wonder if Travolta will marry another beard and stay in the closet or if he’ll come out.

i feel horrible for that family though losing a young kid and a mom/wife so young

She and Travolta were married for 29 years and had three kids together. Every time I saw them together they had genuine affection for each other unlike say Tom Kat or Tom and Nicole. I think it was a real marriage.

I do think they loved each other. But I think it was "modern" relationship. Or at least turned into one at some point. Travolta is definitely bisexual at the very least. There are just way too many stories about him with men. Including pictures of him kissing a man. Even Carrie Fisher outed him during an interview saying "Everyone knows John is gay".

As a teenager in the 80s, there were two other "memorable" performances. Her reteaming with Howell in a Tiger's Tale where his character falls in love with her mother (Ann-Margret) and Spellbinder the Tim Daly witch movie. I don't think the former was ever released after VHS, but the latter was a Kino Blu-ray in 2016.

Her best work was "Jack Frost."
