Died after a battle with breast cancer.

So sad to read this tonight. i hadn't read that she was ill.

I just re-watched her the other night on For Love of the Game on HBO Max, She was always one of the most beautiful women I grew up watching.

This was Kelly's last photo on social media on June 21st.

I feel like I grew up with Kelly Preston movies.

She was so freaking hot in Mischief. I still have my special edition DVD of that.

and I also loved her as Arnold's love interest in Twins.

She was so beautiful and still looked really good at her age now. So sad she became another victim of this terrible disease.

OMG that’s terrible. While I never met her, I was friends with her brother who was a classmate of mine in Hawaii. So I’ve known of her for a long time. That’s really sad.

I did not know she was ill.

Sad news and Travolta seems like a really nice guy in interviews and feel bad for him.

I was channel surfing and saw Arnold reject her on Twins

She was smoking in that movie.

Nobody knew she was sick with the cancer. All the reports say she kept it private.

BTW nobody has yet mentioned the best movie she appeared in - Jerry Maguire. Small part, but she’s great in it.

Devastating. The family had lost their son Jett at a young age. And this is his second significant other to die of breast cancer, the other was Diana Hyland.

I was obsessed with the movie Space Camp as a kid.

I'll never forget the time Travolta won Golden Globe for GET SHORTY and he thanked everyone in the world except his wife, Kelly, and as the camera panned their table before the commercial, you could see the profound look of disappointment on her face. When they came back from commercial, Dick Clark, the host, had Travolta backstage and asked him if he had anything else to say and Travolta apologized profusely for forgetting to mention her.

Very sad. Very fond memories of Secret Admirer, Mischief, Jerry Maguire, etc. So sad.

Damn, that’s sad news. Preston was on of my first crushes. She was absolutely beautiful and she still looked great right up until the end.

I feel bad for Travolta. He’s had it pretty rough the last few years with close family members passing away.

Not to make any assumptions, and I know Travolta’s tweet indicated she was working with doctors to treat her cancer, but I wonder if Scientology prevented her from seeking certain treatments that could have done more to save her. I can’t quite remember but I thought Scientology had certain riles about what medical/mental health treatments one of their members could receive.

Surprised they were able to keep it secret for so long. While I'm aware of who she is as she was always in the supermarket tabloids, i can't think of a major leading role she had in any movies at the moment. I always got her confused with Elisabeth Shue.

I'm wondering the same. The rumors were that they didn't treat their son with all the available medications due to their scientology beliefs. I wonder if this breast cancer situation was hampered by lack of treatment because of their beliefs.

I looked up HD Anderson Cancer Center and it is largest in the US. So I assume they treated her with the best care possible. Like I had posted, unfortunately, this isn't the first rodeo for Travolta in terms of his partner dying from breast cancer. He stayed with Diana Hyland until her death.

i think i still have that too after the great DVD purge of 2020 (least i fucking hope so). encased in plastic slipcover. was a coming of age classic imo...

Probably not. As far as I know, Scientology mostly opposes psychiatry and mental healthcare because they believe mental illness (like depression, addiction, schizophrenia, etc) are caused the ghosts of dead aliens.

So sad. RIP.
