What movies are among your favorites that no one else ever talks about?
Last night I was watching Twilight Zone: The Movie for the umpteenth time. I know it's not a great movie, and some of it is an inexcusable shift from the tone of the original series (particularly the Dan Aykroyd opening scene), but for some reason, I really enjoy watching it and revisiting it regularly. But I don't know anyone else who particularly cares for it and it doesn't get talked about on-line very much. (And when it does, conversation usually revolves around the controversy over the death of Vic Morrow). Side note: my 11-year-old son watched it with me for the first time, and "Kick the Can" was his favorite segment. Go figure.
It made me think about other movies I love that are not obscure films and yet don't really get talked about much anymore. For me, among them would be Dead Again and Death Becomes Her. Both are longtime favorites of mine that never get mentioned in movie conversations.
How about you? What movies -- and I'm not talking about obscure films that were never really on the radar of popular conscience -- rank among your favorites that everyone else seems to have forgotten about?

I like “Time Trap” on Netflix.
Might seem like amateur acting, but the concept and execution are done really well for a really low budget film. Props for originality and creativity.

I don't know about 'forgotten', but this one's a favorite of mine that seems very divisive, and most don't love it as much as I do

Seriously this is one of my favorites I think it’s a forgotten movie that never got much love.

Fired Up! is a fave of mine. This film along with Bring It On are two examples of wonderful cheerleader films.
I also have a soft spot for the Elvira film which is well...not good, but holy cow did I enjoy watching the VHS tape of this film growing up.
I have tilted at the windmill when mentioning Alligator on this site as a film long over-due for a HD release (there is a R1 OOP DVD available), Robert Forster stars, John Sayles had a hand in the story...c'mon Shout or Arrow, give us a release already.

Two for me, and my biggest peeve is that neither are available on Blu-ray. Of course, the title of this thread could be the reason for that.
Also, regarding Flirting, it's bizarre that not a single movie poster shows the star of the movie, Noah Taylor.

Manhattan Murder Mystery. Even a lot of "Woody Allen buffs" I've spoken to over the years only saw it once and consider it one of his lesser pictures, but while I recognize Annie Hall has more cultural and cinematic importance, I like Manhattan Murder Mystery better. There's so many lines that make me laugh out loud. There's so many fascinating story-lines going on in the subtext (considering an affair, Alan Alda's depression and alcoholism). Plus the murder mystery is genuinely tense and suspenseful (that elevator scene!). Also, the movie captures the exhilarating feeling of being out in the city late at night. There are few movies that bring me as much joy as watching this one.

I look forward to revisiting this thread in five years when all the image links are no longer valid and everyone will be wondering what movies were named.
Anyway, Hazel Motes - River's Edge is great although I haven't seen it in many years.
My choice would be the Jacques Audiard movie, The Beat That My Heart Skipped. He's better known, AFAIK, for A Prophet and Dheepan, but of all his films this is the one that resonates most with me.

Another vote for The Station Agent and Searching for Bobby Fisher.
I'll go with Married to the Mob. My first introduction to Michelle Pfeiffer.

It's a great Hollywood remake of an even better Spanish movie - Alejandro Amenábar's Abre los ojos. Penelope Cruz actually plays the role handled by Cameron Diaz in the remake. Crowe's remake has a better soundtrack and a slightly slicker ending, but the original improves on everything else.

^ I had that Sure Thing movie poster in my college dorm room. Hadn't thought about that in decades, but that exact thing was up on my wall for a couple of years.
