At least Lockout was made. If we can't get the Escape from..., there's something pretty close.

Bubba Ho-Tep's sequel would have been nice, although that's been shut down for quite some time.

I'd love to see another Black Dynamite movie.

A third Batman film starring Michael Keaton. That or a third Gremlins, which I’m surprised hasn’t happened yet.

Friday the 13th, either the original franchise or the reboot...either would be fine.

Re: Your most-wanted sequel?

To late.
The Sword of Doom 1966

Spoiler:
There are two different trilogies that came before TSOD, but not with the star power or production value ofSwordofDoom. There was also a two part film from the great Hiroshi Inagaki made in 1935-1936, which isn't really available anywhere. I bet that one was great too, coming from the director ofThe Samurai trilogy, and Chushingura, among others.

Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins (1985).

Hellboy 3: directed by Guillermo del Toro and staring Ron Perlman.

seems I just posted about these movies this year .maybe at the blu site.

But the people on that ship don't age. So it would be a 100% CGI Richard Dreyfuss. Or another actor playing him. "Close Encounters" is my all-time favorite movie and I would have welcomed a sequel 30 years ago. But not now.

BTW, I'd settle for this damn movie finally getting released. First scheduled to open during the Summer, then December, now February. We'll see.

it’s hard to say this about my favorite director, but I tend to agree.

It really is odd how there wasn’t another after the 2009 reboot. Obviously nothing can happen for a while due to the court battle over the rights ownership. Crazy that it’s been ten years with nothing and it’ll probably be longer by the time the case is actually settled.

On that same note, kinda surprised there hasn’t been an attempt at another Nightmare on Elm Street film either. Although there I think a lot of the issue is finding someone as good as Englund to play the part. Jason just needs to be a stuntman behind a mask.

It wasn't an effect of the ship keeping them from aging, it was the ship traveling at or just under light speed from the past to the present that meant the old pilots and such only experienced nothing more than hours or days instead of years.
Remember the line "Einstein was right!" ? They were talking about relativistic time dilation.

Anyways, wasn't E.T. supposed to be a spiritual sequel to CE3K? As much as I love CE3K (and not so much for E.T. ...), I don't really know where you could go with a sequel.

Re: Your most-wanted sequel?

For the longest time, my answer to this was The Incredibles. Be careful what you wish for.

I'm interested in a Gremlins 3 if the critters aren't fully CGI. Puppets or bust.

I'd also be interested in a sequel to It Follows if the original creative team is fully in charge.

Hasn’t Englund stayed that he’s up for another NoES? He’s getting up there in age but hiding behind all that makeup, no one would know. It’s not like Freddy is a physically active character either. All Englund has to do is walk around and scrape his glove along stuff.

The ship has sailed but the long rumored Godfather Part IV - inter-cutting between DeNiro's Vito in the "Golden Age" of mobsters with Andy Garcia's Vincent as the cocaine don of the 1980s. I think it could have worked.

Back to the Future?

Maybe I want it but then it won't have Michael J Fox so maybe not.

Whatever the actual sequel trilogy to Star Wars would've been.

Re: Your most-wanted sequel?

I haven't been too hip on Disney/Pixar's sequel-itis but Big Hero 6 seems ripe for a sequel. The animated series is cute but not quite the same.

Also, How to Train Your Dragon 4. HTTYD: The Hidden Wold was kind of a letdown. I'd like to see a better conclusion to the series. Give me old bearded/engaged Hiccup.

Re: Your most-wanted sequel?

Already mentioned, but Tron 3, Del Toro’s Hellboy 3, and the OP also called out something I had so much good for was Master & Commander since the source material was huge. I still hope some studio bankrolls a high budget version of the books for TV. Would really love for Crowe and Bettany to reprise their roles as well.

But the biggest one for me would be a direct sequel to Raiders of the Lost Ark, continuing that storyline.

Re: Your most-wanted sequel?

Buckaroo Bonzai is definitely at the top of my list.

And another vote for Serenity/Firefly.
