Not bad at all! Moving closing to the OT look than I expected. Have to admit seeing a Zaius like character and that final line gave me chills!
….listened to a new Beatles song and watched a trailer for a new Planet of the Apes movie this morning, partying like it’s 1969!

I'm down for this. Just end the series (eventually, however many movies they decide to make) as a lead-up to the original classic film. Don't take the new series beyond that, though.

This looks really good and makes me wanna see it in the theater, rather than wait for streaming.

So, does this continue the original trilogy or new time all together? Looked good. Kinda like a remake of Charlton Heston version. Many scenes looked similar. I will miss Caesar however.

I think the lead is meant to be a descendant of Caesar.
Per Wikipedia:
But perhaps he's no relation at all.
Per Wikipedia:
Generations after the events of War for the Planet of the Apes (2017), many ape clans have emerged in the oasis to which Caesar led his fellow apes, while humans have regressed into a feral state. When the ape leader Proximus Caesar perverts the teachings of Caesar to enslave other clans in search of the last traces of a secret human technology, the ape Noa embarks on a journey to find freedom alongside a young human woman named Mae.[1][2]
- Owen Teague as Noa, a young chimpanzee born generations after Caesar's time.[3][2]
- Freya Allan as Mae, a feral young woman who joins Noa on his journey.[2]
- Kevin Durand as Proximus Caesar, a powerful chimpanzee ruler who leads a coastal clan of apes in search of human technology.[4][2]
- Travis Jeffery[5]
- Peter Macon as Raka, a wise orangutan and an ally to Noa.[6][2]
- William H. Macy[7]

I picked up the trilogy on UltraHD today from Best Buy for $18.00 and my 14yo and I watched the first one tonight. I really enjoy these films and he liked this first one. We'll watch the second one tomorrow.
It is beautiful in 4K.
My son even showed interest in seeing the original 5 films after we watch the remaining two.

This is looking so great and coming full circle back to 1968 in a fresh way rather than just remaking it

This series/franchise is woefully underrated. Each movie in the trilogy got better. Very much looking forward to this new one.

Looks awesome. I liked the last trilogy a lot. I knew this was coming but it wasn’t high on my radar. The taller changes that though.

But yeah, the trailer looks good, I think they've actually found a good way of telling these stories, let's hope the uppers at Disney don't get in the way too much.

I'm kinda imagining the scene now: the big climax of the main story has ended, we're in an ape village, they're getting back to their usual things or whatever, the camera zooms out and up and slowly over to a glint in the sky and we slowly zoom into that to see that it's a spaceship falling to the planet and on the side, the name of the ship...
But yeah, the trailer looks good, I think they've actually found a good way of telling these stories, let's hope the uppers at Disney don't get in the way too much.

The original is a classic. The 70s sequels have a charm but I wouldn't consider them great. The Marky Mark version is shit. The first and second film in the newest trilogy are fantastic but I really hate the third film. If you couldn't figure out the ending within the first ten minutes you are an idiot.
I will check this new film out when it hits VUDU to rent.

It was on before Big Monkey Punch Big Lizard 2 . . . I pulled my phone out and did not pay attention. Don't want to know anything going in.
