Neve Campbell will reprise her role as Sidney Prescott in Paramount-Spyglass’ relaunch of Scream.
She joins previously announced Scream gang David Arquette and Courteney Cox as Dewey Riley and Gale Weathers, and new cast members Jack Quaid, Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega. Production is planned to shoot in Wilmington, North Carolina for a Jan. 14, 2022 theatrical release.
Radio Silence said, “We’re pinching ourselves! It’s hard to express how much the character Sidney Prescott shaped our love of movies and to have the chance to work with Neve is truly a dream come true. It just wouldn’t be a ‘Scream’ movie without Neve and we’re so excited and honored to join her in Woodsboro.”

A 50yo Arquette playing Dewey must be the roll he always dreamed of!

Seems like an awfully young supporting cast considering the age of the main characters.

‘Scream 5’ Is Officially Called ‘Scream’
Published: November 18, 2020After first being announced as a modern-day reboot, this latest Scream slowly began to look more and more like a sequel, as nearly all of the original cast has returned to appear in the film, including Neve Campbell as Sidney Prescott, Courteney Cox as Gale Weathers, and David Arquette as Dewey Riley. Williamson also wrote on Twitter that the late Wes Craven, who directed all four previous Scream movies, “would’ve been so proud of the film that Matt and Tyler are making” and that he was “thrilled to be reunited with Neve, Courteney, David and Marley.” (That’s Marley Shelton, who appeared in Scream 4 as Deputy Judy Hicks.)

Ah, the lack of creativity with the title. Reminds me of some recent films and their quality: Ghostbusters, The Predator, The Karate Kid (this one I was just plain offended by, since I'm Chinese haha)...
If the creative team is lazy with something as simple as a movie title, just imagine how the plot / story will turn out.

It's just a title. Were people complaining about the lack of creativity of Halloween 2018 being called "Halloween" again?

I think it’s pretty stupid to call a movie by the same thing or just add “The” to the title or something. Just comes off as lazy. If you don’t want to do a number then come up with a subtitle or something (though I hate when franchises abandon numbering movies after a certain point).

I have a feeling that this movie will be about them making a movie of the events from the earlier films, while another killer is trying to off them during it.

It’s dumb to name a sequel to a movie in a franchise the same title if it’s not a remake/reboot. It was dumb with 2018’s Halloween as well. I stand by that post.
