There was supposed to be a sequel back in the 90s, so that sounds like what did happen. But basically a remake with cheesy comedy.

Plus all the flat-lit production values of a 90's TV movie. Makes me appreciate the visuals of the original even more, but then Peter Hyams was always known for that. Dallas Jackson? Well . . .
I wonder if the original hope was for a series of sports-themed "terrorists take over" thrillers with Van Damme or whomever getting new security guard gigs across the country.
