Apatow is involved now?

This just shot to "pass."
Fixed.

I'd pick Kristen Wiig or Tina Fey over Elizabeth Banks. As for Rudd's mainstream-ness, it's true that he's headlined two movies in the past year, but he's still not, nor likely ever will be, a Seth Rogen-like lead in movies.

I still think Nick Frost would make the best Ghostbuster.

Re: Ghostbusters 3 - starring Ben Stiller

Apatow involved is not a good thing, IMO.

What made the first two so great was the fact that they had a lot of serious, dramatic moments.

With these people involved, it will become a flat-out comedy and that's not the tone a Ghostbusters film should be.

I'd rather see any one of the Judd Apatow Players than Ben Stiller. Aside from bits and pieces of Tropic Thunder, I can't remember ever finding Ben Stiller funny in anything before.

The Ben Stiller rumor is eons hold. Harold Ramis made an off-hand comment about it awhile back, but nothing ever came of it. He has absolutely nothing to do with the project.

= comedy gold.

What's wrong with the original actors, huh? What's wrong with that. Now, if it's the original guys training new recruits, that might be interesting.

That's what it's going to be.

That's been the preliminary idea all-along. In a radio interview last week, Aykroyd confirmed the original four-some are back to pass the torches on to an extent.

Well, alright then. But we don't need a carbon copy of each original character if that's the case. Give the new guys their own identities. I do think Craig Robinson should be in it, just because he's damn hilarious. I will watch Rudd in anything, as well, so he'd be fine. Make the other two Simon Pegg and Nick Frost and then you'd have something great going on.

Totally. It's just easier to imagine a actors when the torch is clearly being passed on. I could care less who's in it, I'll see it regardless. However, Paul Rudd is a must. Oh and the original Ghostbusters must have more than cameos.

I love Simon and Nick, but I say give Nick a chance to shine amongst a fresh set of faces.

I think thats a good idea. Nick is very funny on his own and would allow the film to not have to focus on their buddy comedy.

For the love of allah though..... No Rogen or Hill. Not even cameos.

re: Ghostbusters III (2015) S: Jonah Hill

Consider the Apatow rumor debunked by Columbia themselves:
“It’s not true,” says Doug Belgrad, president of Columbia Pictures. “We have some great new writers working on a new script, but Judd isn’t involved. Judging from the frenzy on the Internet, there still seems to be plenty of interest in the idea of doing another film, so we’re certainly taking that as a good sign.”

I'd say add Seann William Scott and have his character be similar to what it was in Evolution. I agree with the above comments about Nick Frost. He'd be hysterical, though I just don't see him being signed to this.

Am I the only one that wants the ORIGINAL cast to return and not be taken over by anybody new?

I'd like to see that but I'd also like to believe that the busters continued on in their business and hired ppl etc...it'd only make sense, that is if this is a sequel...

Let's bring back David Duchovny and Orlando Jones as well. Fuck it, let's just make a sequel to Evolution.

Speaking of Orlando Jones. Whatever happened to him? Working in a soup kitchen some where?

Nope. I do too. I think if they got the right team together they could make a worthy sequel that addresses their age without resorting to cheap jokes and respects the tone set by the previous 2 films.

I'd much rather see that than a new team of hot comedy stars. As much as I like Apatow and his usual bunch, I don't think they would work for this project.

I heard he's selling magazine subscriptions. Makes more money than he ever did in Hollywood.
