plus, why are we revealing spoilers in a supposed spoiler free thread? i didn't want or have to know that Xavier was any part of this movie until i see it.

It's in the commercials and trailer.

If you'd only seen the trailer that was at the end of Spider-Man, he wasn't in that. Maybe we change these threads to "The non-Spoiler but you've had to have seen certain trailers, know of the toys on the shelves and avoided the inevitable leaks" thread.
Seriously, though, I think from here on out I may avoid certain trailers myself and go in cold. I really think my Spider-Man experience would have been better had I not known anything (though I gather it'd be tough to avoid the poster and stuff at the theatre that had Doc Ock and Goblin on them)...but avoiding Strange spoiler would have made for the reveal of "you know who" a lot more fantastic.

If stuff is confirmed in official marketing materials, then I'm sorry but it is no longer a spoiler. Especially if you're going through and reading threads about the movie, because then how are you avoiding seeing main trailers?

Heading out in a few hours - without giving anything away I've read that the final end credits scene is not worth staying for - for those who know is that correct?
Update: Left early so I didn't see it.

So I was thinking of going today and I was checking on AMCs site. The afternoon showings that I checked were wide open (regular and 3D). No seats taken. Now the evening IMAX says it's almost full. This surprises me, I thought it was going to fill up. Maybe AMC booked too many screens. Guess no need to reserve.

I love listening to the scores of these films in the credits so stick anyway but, yeah, for a Rami fan this was a pretty groovy end credits.

Wow - possibly my all-time favorite post-credits scene is actually being dismissed as "not worth staying for"? Ouch.
