Not sure this will happen. I doubt JL will be any better than BvS.. WW might be good but that's not going to save this universe

Prove me wrong Warner, prove me wrong!

You missed the point. I like the ultimate edition more but most of the parts that caused it to be rated R don't necessarily make it better. The added scenes that flesh out the story do and most of that content wouldn't be R rated.

Wow. Mel Gibson. Interesting choice.

I don't know if I'd like a comic movie directed by him, but I'm still curious about a new Suicide Squad story.

‘Legend of Tarzan’ Screenwriter In Talks to Write ‘Suicide Squad 2’

Adam Cozad, who penned the script for “The Legend of Tarzan,” is in negotiations to write the screenplay for “Suicide Squad 2,” an individual with knowledge of the project told TheWrap.

No director is currently attached to the Warner Bros. sequel, although Mel Gibson was reportedly courted by the studio. David Ayer, who wrote and directed the 2016 movie, will not return for the sequel.

Even the UE cut of SS was terrible. I would only catch this if it was on one of the free channels at some point.

Director Jaume Collet-Serra Possible Contender For ‘Suicide Squad 2′

The Tracking Board’s Jeff Sneider, who is also one of the hosts of Meet The Movie Press, discussed the sequel in this week’s episode. While the project is still looking for a director, Sneider brought up a new name that might be another contender for the directing gig. Sneider did point out early in the show that this is just what he has heard as no deals have been made.

“So the name that I have heard, who could very well be in the mix: Jaume Collet-Serra. He’s a home-grown filmmaker for Warner Bros, that’s where he did House of Wax, Orphan, Unknown [and] Run All Night.”

That's a good choice, he's twice turned the dumbest fucking shit into something way more entertaining than it should be (Orphan and The Shallows)

Well there you go.

Should note, never seen either Orphan or Shallows, but I did enjoy Unknown and Run All Night.

Jaume Collet-Serra Frontrunner For ‘Suicide Squad’ Sequel

EXCLUSIVE: The Shallows Jaume Collet-Serra has emerged as frontrunner choice to direct Suicide Squad 2, the next installment of the 2016 Warner Bros DC film that grossed $745 million worldwide.

And per Variety:

It’s unknown when the DC Comics project would shoot, given the ensemble’s busy schedule, including Smith who is already attached to shoot Ang Lee’s “Gemini Man” and Disney’s “Aladdin,” for which he will voice the Genie. Insiders say the studio would love to be up and running by March.

I'm most people will point out The Accountant as a good example for O'Connor to be picked as director but, IMO, Warrior was one of the most pleasant surprises I've had with a movie in recent memory! I say I'm all for this choice!

I guess no Accountant 2 from Gavin then.

Maybe, maybe not. Suicide Squad 2 probably won't start production until Fall 2018 (so like October or November). But since he's also working on the script, it's unlikely, unless Warner is willing to wait and have Accountant 2 go into production mid/late 2019.

He was my guess to take over The Batman when Affleck stepped down. Good to see him getting into the fold.

The Accountant was alright but had some issues in my opinion so I can't say he sells me on this. Never saw Warrior and the rest of his filmography doesn't jump out at me as him being a good choice. He seems a bit like an Ayer where he might be overridden by what WB wants in my opinion. I was also really hoping Leto would be ditched after the seemingly poor reception to his Joker from the first film.

It can't be worse than the original. Moot point though I guess because the first drained any and all interest I have in seeing a second one.

Oh...of course here comes Morose Mike to add some negative wisdom. "I've only seen one his films and not his best one so he can't possibly do anything good!"

Not what I said at all. People here seem to be citing that film as a reason to be excited about the choice and I'm simply saying I don't think that particular film is that great. I haven't seen his other films but aside from Warrior and Miracle I haven't even heard of anything else he's done.

It is pretty much what you said. You've seen one movie of his. I'm sorry everything can't be directed by Mark Webb and be TASM2 level amazing.

It's not really what I said but okay.. My post was in reference to others being excited about him because of that one film which I didn't find to be that great. I looked again and forgot about Jane Got a Gun which was critically panned. I'm not necessarily saying he's an awful choice and by my own admission earlier I haven't seen a lot of his films but most of them don't interest me honestly. Like I said before he seems like someone who if he has a vision like Ayer did if it doesn't mesh with what WB wants they'll probably easily pull the reigns away and we'll end up with another messy film. It's pretty much WB's schtick at this point with their DC films.

Jane Got a Gun getting panned isn't his fault. He came on as director when the original one didn't show up for the first day of shooting. The entire production was troubled. And the movie wasn't even that bad.
