I just hope it King Shark is done he’s done better than Killer Croc was. Croc is actually one of my favorite Batman villains but I really didn’t like how he was in Suicide Squad.

I was totally indifferent to this movie (first was abysmal) but with Gunn, Rooker and now King Shark? My interest is officially piqued.

Storm Reid Joins Idris Elba in James Gunn's 'The Suicide Squad'
JULY 10, 2019 2:21PM by Borys Kit
Reid will play the daughter of Elba’s character.
Storm Reid, the actress who starred in A Wrinkle in Time and now appears on HBO's Euphoria, is joining the heavy-hitting cast of Warner Bros.' The Suicide Squad.
James Gunn is directing the follow-up to the 2016 feature based on the DC Comics anti-heroes. Gunn’s installment sees Idris Elba, John Cena and David Dastmalchian star alongside returnees Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Jai Courtney and Viola Davis.
Plot details are being kept under wraps, but it is known that Reid will play the daughter of Elba’s character.
The project is gearing up for a September start, with an Atlanta shooting location being eyed. Charles Roven is among those producing the action-adventure pic.
Reid broke through when she nabbed the lead in Disney’s high-flying adaptation of A Wrinkle in Time, directed by Ava DuVernay and with Oprah Winfrey and Reese Witherspoon also in the cast. The actress also had a role in DuVernay’s acclaimed Netflix docudrama When They See Us, centering on the Central Park 5, and currently appears alongside Zendaya on HBO’s envelope-pushing teen drama Euphoria.
Reid, who is repped by CAA, Management 360 and Felker Toczek, will shoot a role in Universal and Blumhouse's The Invisible Man before segueing to Suicide Squad.

Is Elba now playing Deadshot instead of Smith or different character? If different, why others like Smith not back?

I did. Says no mention of character name. Just that she’s playing the daughter of his character...

Further ...
Elba was cast as Deadshot, then they decided to make him a different character in case Smith wanted to come back for the third film (A Suicide Squad) or the fourth in the trilogy (Suicide Squads).
OK, most of that was true. The rest was a dig at laziness in Hollywood.

Comedian Steve Agee Joining James Gunn’s ‘Suicide Squad’ Gang
https://deadline.com/2019/08/suicide...rk-1202703447/
EXCLUSIVE: Deadline hears that comedian Steve Agee is boarding Warner Bros.’ James Gunn-directed sequel The Suicide Squad.
We’re hearing buzz that Agee will provide the voiceover to super-villain King Shark, who is a humanoid. King Shark was created by Karl Kesel and made a brief cameo in Superboy vol. 3, #0 (Oct. 1994) before making his first full appearance in Superboy vol. 3, #9 (Nov. 1994). In the comics, when Superboy is assigned to the Suicide Squad to destroy the Silicon Dragons, King Shark gets hooked in to help.

I like Agee. He’s a fun tall doofy character always popping up on tv spots. Good that he’s not on camera...

I watched Brightburn last night and was surprised to see him in the bar scene as barely more than an extra. This seems like a good upgrade from Gunn.

It's not that far off, they start production in late September... Of course, I'm a DC fan so looking more forward to this than GOTG3 (loved the first one, very disappointed in the sequel).

Could a sequel be any worse than the raging diarrhea fest that was the first Suicide Squad? God, I pray for Hollywood.

EXCLUSIVE: We hear that Doctor Who actor and 1995 Oscar winner Peter Capaldi is boarding James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad at Warner Bros. We also hear that Saturday Night Live‘s Pete Davidson has been in talks for a small cameo in the pic, and there’s a chance he’ll do it between breaks on Saturday Night Live. That deal is still coming together.
Word is that there’s a table reading for the DC sequel on Sept. 11 with production starting Sept. 23 at Pinewood Studios in Atlanta, GA for an Aug. 6, 2021 release.
No details were given in regards to which roles Capaldi or Davidson will play.

And apparently he had shaved his hair. I doubt he had done it on a whim and could be for the role (unless he's doing another before the start date in late Sept).

If he's not shooting for a month and half (from when that post is), why would he shave it then?
It probably had to do with this: https://deadline.com/2019/08/peter-c...ss-1202700507/

Anyway, could be the case thinking about it, since it is a short and could be filmed before the Suicide Squad (would have to be if it's to air in December)

Maybe he's playing Captain Picard in nuTrek's version of TNG.
