Lethal Weapon 4. I remember me and a friend saw Saving Private Ryan and it was beyond intense, so we snuck in and watched LW4 to take the edge off and were howling like morons at certain scenes, like the one in the dentist's office. Once the shock and awe of SPR wore off, we reflected and were all like, LW4 was fucking awful!

The Goonies is still one of my favorite movies. Of course, I grew up with it so nostalgia helps. I do tend to notice more flaws with it the older I get but I still love it.
The Monster Squad on the other hand, was one that missed when I was a kid and only watched it for the first time a few years ago. I didn’t care for it at all (I’m not even sure I finished it). I feel it’s definitely a “nostalgia” movie too considering my love of The Goonies and complete indifference to The Monster Squad.

I caught the end of Monster Squad on TV when I came back from trick-or-treating in the 90s and for years I wanted to know what the Hell I'd just watched. I found out a decade later the name of the movie and watched it a decade after that. It was a fun one-off. I like most schlock from the 80s, as long as it had some kind of budget.
