^ Meh. I’m sure Robocop would have looked legit with Blomkamp at the helm but I’ve never been blown away with his directing abilities. District 9 was decent but Chappie is one of my most hated movies in years!

We also don’t need a Robocop who speaks with a South African accent.

I'm not overly upset either, for the same reasons as you. It would be nice if the project picks up someone else who's interested in the original property and imagery.

Absolutely agree. In that way it should be very welcomed. Aways beeen an everlasting Robocop (the 1987 orignal) fan.

I actually kinda liked CHAPPiE when I saw it. Haven’t seen it since I went to it in the theater though. District 9 I like less with repeat viewings. I’m not too upset over Blomkamp being off this film really. This movie in general is one that I can take or leave. The original is a classic and I like the second as well. I’d see a new one but I’m not desperately awaiting it.

Make it special like the original or fuck off. The last Robocop is what you get when the filmmakers can’t do anything courageous or adventurous. Not sure if it was a choice, or if they are incapable of doing anything special. But it is what it is.

Ditto.
When the ED-209 clone hit the screen, I immediately hit REJECT and swore so loud the neighbors heard.

Read that fast. I thought it was a weird move to have the director of The Little Mermaid do this.

Of all the potential movie titles that are no-brainers, "RoboCop Rebooted" is sitting right there. Nope, let's call it "RoboCop Returns"

You’ve already put more thought into this movie than the filmmakers.

RoboCop v2.0

But who are we kidding, 125% chance it’s gonna suck - if it ever gets made and has a decent enough title to it.

This will be like the new Terminator. Or the new Crow. Or the new Weezer album.

Invest your earnings and find something different to do. Smeesh.

We should start a thread to discuss movies that took a hiatus, then actually came back good (ie Mad Max Fury Road).

Would Ash vs Evil Dead count? But yeah - there's not going to be a whole lot. So not sure why Hollywood keeps trying.

I would put Blade Runner 2049 in that category, but the Warner Bros. accountants certainly would not.
