Re: AMC Stubs A-List -- movie theatre subscription
I'm assuming their data shows that the vast majority of users do not use all three on regular basis, so this is just a way to raise the price and make it seem as if we are getting something in return. In reality, this is nothing in return.
It's "only" $3 more per month, but it places it in the area where I need to re-evaluate whether it is worth it or not. Tuesdays are $5 days. I usually go to matinees anyway . . . though I do like to go to the "IMAX" and it is $15/pop. Add to that the fact that the selection usually sucks around here (an hour each direction has many of the Oscar nominees playing, we have one showtime of The Brutalist, and Wicked still playing a few times per day).
It has long pissed me off that Illinois is in one of the higher tiers. Most of the state is not Chicago, but you are charging me for Chicago prices.
I do like the picture aspect though! This is something I had bagged on them for since day 1. Regal has this, and I loved it when I had a local Regal. Not worth $36/year.

Personally I've hopscotched around the state in the last six weeks seeing movies that will never come here (The Return, the Order, Her Story, Sing Sing, the Last Showgirl, September 5, Love Me). I did choose Champaign over Peoria for I'm Still Here this weekend so at least I could reserve my seat.

Never been to the one in Edwardsville . . . Peoria is bigger than Springfield. Only been there a few times though.
I used to have more time (and energy) to wander, I wish I still did!
Really wanted to catch Grand Theft Hamlet last week in Peoria, but I'm holding out hope it shows up here. Not likely. As you said, we have a different place to watch the same movies, despite having 20 screens.

Since it actually got nominated for best picture I assume I'm Still Here will show up here eventually, but, then again, as I say that I'm not entirely sure if either Anatomy of a Fall or Zone of Interest ever did last year. Maybe the marathon on Oscar weekend. I'm honestly surprised we actually got Nickel Boys for a week last month.

If this was 2018-19, I'd be pretty happy with the added movie a week just for being able to hold reservations for upcoming movies. But since covid, I think I've only ever used the whole 3 in a week or held 3 reservations at once on a couple of occasions.
So while I'm not "happy" about the $3 price increase, I still do get so much value out of it.

I'm not sure if it got mentioned in the above comments, but AMC is also rolling out a $15 a month tier for AMC "Classic"-brand theaters, where you can see ONE movie a week (instead of four). But only at theaters with the "Classic" label in their names (these are generally theaters AMC bought out rather than built on their own...but they still all have first-run movies).

$3/month increase isn't too terrible. And the extra movie reservation a week is not really going to be worth anything. I doubt it if many would be able to take advantage of that. But it's still nice they made the attempt to even out the increase with an increased benefit. They had a survey a while back and I suggested that they include family packs of tickets or a family day or something that will help blunt the blow at least a little on taking a whole family to a movie. I guess it's nice to drop the age to 13 now. Although if it's 13 why not 10 or why have an age limit? I mean I know most kids won't see that many movies but why have an age limit at all? It would be nice if that came with a decrease in the monthly cost on a kids A list membership. But I understand why they wouldn't.
Still probably not going to sign up for A list again. I pretty much see whatever movie I want to/have time to see and I'm pretty sure I still spend less than I would if I had A list. Would I see more movies? Yeah probably. But then I'll feel like I need to watch more movies to make my membership worth it. And I just don't want that kind of pressure. If it came with some kind of companion ticket discount I'd almost surely sign up. I take my whole family to the movies several times a year so that would entice me to join.

Re: AMC Stubs A-List -- movie theatre subscription
I'd be curious to know demographics and city size for those that are able to maximize their membership. My city is around 50,000 and we have one Marcus theater with 11-12 screens. Around 10-12 years ago, we had a 2nd Carmike Cinema theater that closed.
I signed up for Fandango Fan Club to try them out, and they're useful because they waive online ticket fees for AMC, Regal, Cinemark, Marcus and others for a flat $10.00 per month AND they provude one $10 discount code per month. However, it doesn't roll over and is use it or lose it. I canceled my membership and signed up for Marcus Movie Club.
Marcus offers one free uncapped ticket every month and a 20% discount on concessions AND the tickets roll over.
With 11 screens and one theater, there are only so many good movies playing per month that I want to see AND when I go to a movie, I'll often sit through 2-3 at a time to maximize each trip and the FREE refills on concessions.
At times, I may go 1-2 months between movies and then see 2-3 at once. Two weeks ago, I saw Green and Gold, Dog Man, and Companion.
I would've loved to see Juror #2 when it had a limited screening, but our city never got it, and we may not get every film when it is immediately released. I don't mind paying for a rollover program because I'll eventually get value, but I know if I had AMC, I would probably have 2-3 months during the year where I wouldn't use it.

The extra movie went live mid-week so you have a fourth movie available to see today if anyone has used all three.

I got billed the new rate $27.99 yesterday.
Currently have 3 of the 4 slots filled. Final Destination, Lilo and Stitch and How to train your dragon. I had to book Mission Impossible out of pocket because I'm seeing the early access screening on the 22nd that A-List isn't paying for.

Already filled up the slots. Fight or Flight, Kingdom of Heaven, Mission Impossible, and How to Train Your Dragon. I also have Dogma in there but that's excluded. I don't get charged the new rate until next week, though.

I have a technical glitch with my A-List account. I wonder if any of you might have experienced this problem.
I reserved a ticket to see Naked Gun on Friday. But, I saw they were giving out a free movie poster if you see it Thursday night. So I decided to cancel my Friday ticket. You have to cancel it through Fandango.
So I cancelled my ticket. And reserved one of the few spots left for Thursday night. However, I experienced a glitch and my cancelled Friday ticket is still locking up an A-List slot.
So right now, I have 2 Naked Guns, Weapons and Nobody 2 occupying slots. And I can't book anything else right now. It's not a huge deal, but annoying. I contacted AMC and they can't seem to unlock the slot for the cancelled ticket.

Weird. My only glitch was AMC A-List insisted I signed up for a Sonic the Hedgehog 3 Fan Event last year that I definitely did not sign up for on my own.

To avoid confusion, I booked by ticket through fandango and had to cancel it there. My fandango and A-List account are linked.

Yeah, don't have anything linked, but that sounds like it is definitely the issue. Whenever I have to cancel on the AMC app, it corrects everything in real time.
What is the benefit to that? (I don't use Fandango, but if there is a good enough incentive to . . . )
