Everyone deserves a great love story. But for seventeen-year old Simon Spier it’s a little more complicated: he’s yet to tell his family or friends he’s gay and he doesn’t actually know the identity of the anonymous classmate he’s fallen for online. Resolving both issues proves hilarious, terrifying and life-changing. Directed by Greg Berlanti (Dawson’s Creek, Brothers & Sisters), written by Isaac Aptaker & Elizabeth Berger (This is Us), and based on Becky Albertalli’s acclaimed novel, LOVE, SIMON is a funny and heartfelt coming-of-age story about the thrilling ride of finding yourself and falling in love.

I saw this today. I thought it was really good. I've been a fan of Berlanti's work going back to Everwood (nice touch having a scene with a Ferris wheel here). Nick Robinson is a good lead.

I thought it was great. The characters seemed real, the story was interesting, and it was funny, sweet, and moving. Kinda reminded me of the musical Dear Evan Hansen. One of the best movies I've seen in a while.

I admit I saw this a second time. 
Just as good, and I picked up on some subtleties.
I got e-mail from Movies Anywhere last week saying they had an "exclusive" on the movie, but when I clicked through, it was just a pre-order. So I assume the release date will be the same for everyone, but MA had an exclusive early pre-order window. But unlike with physical media, I don't really see a point to pre-ordering when you can get digital access instantly. And if I forget it exists by release date, it's probably not that important to me anyway.

This was a great film. Reminded me of another sweet coming-of-age fable, Easy A.

Saw this and liked it. Heart-breaking at times, the kinds of challenges gay kids can face that you never think about.

Fantastic movie with a great cast. Everyone nailed their characters. Hopefully more people get a chance to watch it. Funny enough, it also reminded me of Easy A.

I picked it up on BD and watched it a third time. There are a fair number of bonus features so I'm looking forward to digging into those.

This was surprisingly good. Maybe a breakthrough film for the portrayal of gays in cinema.
At first I thought Eric Dane (The Last Ship) was the dad but it was Josh Duhammel.
Duhammel looks older now.

I just saw this today while at my brothers for dinner and a movie and it was fantastic. I now get why everyone was singing its praises.

Never judge a book. I literally rolled my eyes during the trailer of this film when I saw it in the theater. Cut to a year later. Was channel surfing tonight looking for something to watch. Saw that it was on HBO and paused to watch for just a minute, and didn't turn it off. What a terrific movie! I was actually shocked just how good it was. Smartly written, great performances and it had a huge huge heart. I'm so glad I stumbled upon it. It's one of the best High School themed films I have ever seen. 9/10 rating from me. I loved it.

This was absolutely great. A touching heartfelt non-cliched coming of age story. So well done. I admit to shedding a tear. Inexplicably rare type of movie.
