Yeah, same.

I like some of his stuff, but I’ve never really been much of a fan.

Never understood the appeal.

Agreed.

Because he can be a little too arrogant/insulting at times, he is just OK in my book.
His shtick is slightly bombastic and may explain his appeal (like another "celebrity" on the loose in this country ).

I still can't forgive Louis C.K. for throwing away a half eaten piece of pizza.

He only threw out the crust. Someone who does Bang Bang wouldn't throw out half a slice of pizza.

Supposedly Louis Ck has lost over 30mil since this stuff started.

I was listening to a radio show taking calls about whether or not callers would go to a Louis CK show yesterday. Well, one of the callers was crying about how society has gotten to the point where The Mob no longer accepts apologies and let things go and instead work to "destroy" people's careers. I couldn't help but think about the repeated stories of these "poor souls" who destroyed, limited, or never allowed to get started...careers of Women who wouldn't play along with the "Touch My Cock Power Games".

Not saying we shouldn't have compassion, but come on....

Did Louis CK actually lose $30M of his own money, or did he just lose out on that as income he was expecting to make?

Louis C.K. Says It's Been a 'Weird Year' Since Sexual Misconduct Allegations: 'I Lost $35 Million'

From a 10/2018 article

He also addressed both the public and professional backlash he faced in the wake of the allegations. FX severed ties with C.K., whose shows Louie and Better Things aired on the network, after the scandal broke. C.K. was dropped by all his reps, too, while Netflix canceled an upcoming stand-up special and HBO cut all of his content from its library. Orchard also canceled the release of his film I Love You, Daddy — though C.K. bought the rights to the title back.

“I lost $35 million in an hour,” he reportedly said during the set.

Yeah, apart from #5 (one must be permitted to fantasize), these are pretty good ground rules to follow to avoid offending or discomfiting a woman. I have probably told this story before, but when I was in my teens, 25+ years ago, I worked at McDs. Most of the people who worked in the kitchen were teen boys like me, and most of the cashiers were teen girls. Needless to say, there was much ribald, rowdy badinage in the kitchen. I have never in my life touched a woman inappropriately, but in my past I have spoken about them, and sometimes even to them, inappropriately. Nothing outrageous, but rather coy innuendo and not-so-subtle flirtations.
One cruel prank I remember is when we guys convinced a girl, a really nice, guileless, friendly girl, that someone was telephoning for a Mike Hunt, and couldn't she go out into the seating area and ask specifically, "have you seen Mike Hunt?" She was credulous and completely innocent, which still makes me feel guilty all these years later, so she followed our instructions to the letter and embarrassed herself until a customer clued her in to the joke. Fortunately, she seemed to take it in stride and with good humour. I didn't orchestrate the prank, but I participated in it. If memory serves, a male manager was involved as well. This sort of thing wouldn't fly today. Those were different times.

FW Murnau was a Paedo and silent film buffs aren't gonna boycott Nosferatu. Once these people are long dead and their victims all are dead too history will not care. If people are not watching the Cosby show in 50 year's it's not cause The Cos is a sexual predator, it's because people don't care about milquetoast family sitcoms that airred before they were born. If it came out Hopkins was a serial rapist and cannibal of women, everyone in here would boycott Silence Of The Lambs but generations removed the thing would fascinate people and would be the most watched 1990's movie for Space Humans. In the case of Gary Glitter once he dies, people will probably be comfortable playing that song again at stadiums since Wacko Jacko started to make its way back in the radio again once he died.

Yes, they were.

I don't know if kids today do that kind of thing still.
If so, I doubt it is as prevalent as it once was.

Interesting point.
All I know is I won't be around in 50 years to find out.

Eh, I think it's very different when it's a director or producer, rather than the lead actor of the show/film. You usually don't see or hear from the director in the work. But Bill Cosby, the star of the series with his name in the title? It's "a different world."

I think that's why Bryan Singer has (kinda, sorta) flown under the radar. Stories about him will never get the clicks of a Cosby or a Spacey.

Here's a list of ALL the shit he's done over 20+ years.

I’ve never heard these accusations about Murnau.

Yeah, after they're dead and can’t financially benefit from anything, then whatever crimes or indiscretions that might have been committed become trivia questions.

One recent thing, though, is that the World Fantasy Convention changed their World Fantasy Award from a bust of H.P. Lovecraft to a moon and tree a couple of years ago because of complaints Lovecraft’s virulent racism. Lovecraft has been pushing up daisies for seventy-five years.

Lovecraft's stories were permeated with racism. I don't see anything as cringe-inducing in Murnau's films.

I would think the statue/trophy was changed because nobody wanted that creepy looking thing in their house.

I can't find anything about that with Google...maybe you're mixing that up with a subplot from The World According to Garp by John Irving?

LOL, now that's something I can believe...
