It has the old straps, so different than the one at the end of Civil War with magnetic straps

Edit : Nope, further deep-dive reveals that the Civil War shield had straps as well.

I can't remember, didn't Cap's shield make a cameo or was mentioned in Spider-Man: Homecoming when they were moving all the stuff out of the tower? (before or after the plane)

I guess they could be looking at Tony's return from space while walking in the field. But I'm thinking Captain Marvel will pick up Tony and Nebula on her way to Earth.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (4/26/19) D: The Russo Bros.

In news that will come as a surprise to exactly no one, Avengers: Endgame is tracking to bring home some big box office bucks when it lands in theaters this April. According to Researcher Exhibitor Relations (and common sense), Endgame is on track to best Avengers: Infinity War and set a new opening weekend record. As of right now, Endgame is tracking for a $282 million opening weekend haul, which would shatter the $258 million record set by Infinity War last year.

Of course, we’re still months out from the film’s theatrical debut so the numbers are liable to shift, but it would be pretty surprising if Endgame failed to top Infinity War. After all, the fourth Avengers film represents the culmination of a decade’s worth fo filmmaking in the MCU and it comes on the heels of one of the biggest cliffhangers in movie history — we’re all dying to know what happens after the snap.

Indeed Researcher Exhibitor Relations senior analyst Jeff Block noted in an e-mail that one of the few factors that could affect the opening weekend tally would be a runtime over three hours. Marvel has yet to confirm the running time for the film, but directors Joe and Anthony Russo recently told us that it still sits around the three-hour mark in the edit. That wouldn’t just be the longest movie in MCU history, it would also limit the number of screenings per theater, per day.

Either way, Endgame is undoubtedly on track to become one of the biggest hits of the year — and possibly of all time. As of now, Disney holds nine of the biggest domestic opening weekends of all time (Jurassic World is the lone holdout in the #4 spot). The bigger question mark right now is Captain Marvel, which arrives in theaters a month ahead of Endgame, introducing the long-awaited debut of the comic icon played by Brie Larson. Captain Marvel is currently tracking for an opening weekend of upwards of $100 million domestic, but as Black Panther proved last year when it swiped the #1 box office spot for 2018, Marvel’s new and exciting titles can pack an even bigger box office punch than the epic crossover films (Infinity War took the #2 spot). Either way, Disney appears to be on track for yet another record-breaking year at the box office.

Crazy, considering the run time is probably going to be close to 3 hours.

Avatar has a 2:40 running time. The advantage Avengers: Endgame has is way more screens, close to if not more than 1000 more than Avatar had.

Captain Marvel tickets went on sale 1/7/19, two months before the movie's release date. Endgame is going to be much more popular. Wonder why we are still waiting for tickets to go on sale less then 2 months before release. I guess they want people to buy Captain Marvel tickets first?

IW didn’t go onsale until March 16th, after Black Panther opened.

They’ll probably put a new promo out during March Madness announcing an onsale.

Doesn't that bug you guys? Is that the way it is intended to be seen or not? It seems like they are shortchanging those that don't go to Imax.

They don't release on blu that way do they?

I can't remember what they did with the IMAX scenes on the BR for Dark Knight. If you had to dial over to see those scenes or if it was part of it.

The XD screens show about as much as you would see on an imax screen, right? The imax at my local Newpark Mall is nice but the reclining seats at the Pacific Commons Cinemark screens including the XD theater are oh so comfortable.

Are you talking about how the scenes would expand to fill the full screen for the IMAX presentation, and then go back? There was nothing to do with regards to settings or selection, it was automatic.

Only way to watch these is in a Imax theater. They are entirely shot in Imax why the hell would you go to a regular theater?

What do you miss that's important? A sliver at the top and at the bottom.

What about people that don't have access to an IMAX theater? And are you talking real IMAX?

IMAX scenes were full 1.85:1, rest of the movie was 2.35:1. The digital release of Aquaman (that came out today) does the same thing.

I personally find the shifting of AR distracting, but get why they did it.

Also, back to the other trailer and the removal of a character, seems like it would be Carol maybe?

That comparison actually knocked IMAX down a peg in my opinion ... it showed how little it really adds. However, I just love the large screen.
