Young John Connor or His Son to Star in Terminator (2019)?
Well, Edward Furlong might be back but not in the way fans would have anticipated. It looks like a British boy by the name of Jude Collie has landed a role in Terminator (2019) and could possibly be undergoing the Brett Azar treatment to bring a CGI young John Connor to the new Terminator movie (guess work). If this is true we will also make the guess that we may see Sarah and John hit the road from the events of the steel mill or some form of a flashback but if they dare change the ending of Terminator 2: Judgment Day (Uncle Bob lives)… we were promised a canon sequel so the the studios wouldn’t be stupid enough to alter T2’s story- but would they? Let’s pray this is a well executed minimal flashback scene.

Hmmm, looks like they're going to spend the money on the CGI, so why not? I'm one of the few that enjoyed Genisys, so I say bring it on.

Good God I hope thats not what they are doing. I'll gladly take back my disappointment for having the role recast if it means not having to witness C.G.I Edward Furlong.

To me, Terminator is more of a 1/5. I thought T2 was just a rehash of the first movie.
I liked Salvation better than T2 because, for all of its faults, at least it tried to tell a new story instead of another time travel thing.

I hear ya. I think T2 is the best in the franchise myself. The basic premise is a rehash, but I felt like they flipped the script on everything they rehashed and took it in a direction that made it fresh and interesting. Usually a sequel raises the stakes just because they feel pressure to top what came before it(see T3), but I think everything they did in T2 worked perfectly and served a purpose that complimented the overall narrative and vibe of the film. Also, for as much guff as Arnie and Furlong get about not being good actors I thought their chemistry was amazing in this movie. They're as iconic as a screen duo gets imo.
I know very little about the drama Cameron and the studio or the rights holders had in the mid-late 90's, but it always bothered me that he never got to make T3. I could have seen Cameron making the Salvation you appreciated, but without most of the faults.
At this point though, much like the Alien franchise, the waters are so muddied that I wish they would both go away. I'd rather not see a CGI Furlong, but thats just a small part of a bigger picture. I wish they would stop making Terminator films altogether.

I'll say it every time - I love Terminator Salvation
I'll watch anything Terminator, even though I disliked Genisys.

Salvation isn’t as bad as a lot of people make it out to be. Far from a perfect movie but it’s got some good ideas and I like that it’s not the same story again. I’ve always said that it stands out as an oddity amongst the franchise and a lot of that is down to the fact that it was supposed to be the start of a trilogy so never got to finish its story entirely.
Genisys is probably the second weakest in the franchise. It’s kind of a hot mess of a movie. Again it’s got good ideas but a lot of it is poorly executed and retreads on what came before.

While it’s obvious to me that the first two are the best easily I will say that I’ve enjoyed them all to an extent. I think Rise of the Machines is the weakest personally. Just because of how much of a retread it is on Judgement Day and yet at the same time it undoes that film too. It’s a weird movie.

Salvation alternated between boring and pissing me off.
Genisys made me throw my remote against the wall.

Now that I reflect back 3 years later, that EPK with Cameron above ^^^ is kind of hilarious. He must have gotten paid by Paramount to plug Genisys and hype the shit out of it.

They look determined to sink this franchise even lower. Looking forward to the many music videos for this one.
