Mulholland Drive leads the pack in list of 21st century's top films

Seen 70 of them and I agree with most (20 I disagree with)

I've only seen 25 of the 100 and would only pick 6 of them for such a list: IN THE MOOD FOR LOVE, SPIRITED AWAY, INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS, CAROL, THE PIANIST and FINDING NEMO.

Can I be the guy that points out that the year 2000 isn't part of the 21st century?

I've seen 70 of them. A decent list - although there are some highly overrated films on the list IMO... plus I have no interest in the Pixar crap.

Mulholland Drive at number one is where it should be.
How can the Lord Of The Rings films be missing when shit like Inception and The Dark Knight are listed?

Re: BBC's Top 100 films of the 21st Century (so far)

100 movies from a pool of only 16 years is kinda ridiculous. A list of ten, even twenty would have been better. This just looks like a random list of "pretty damn good movies".

If I'd been asked, I would have included Dogtooth.

I could come up with a bunch that would replace some of the ones there and Dogtooth would most definitely be one of them.

Re: BBC's Top 100 films of the 21st Century (so far)

I certainly agree with number 1 and number 2.

I'd put The Pianist much higher.

Shame and 12 Years are on there but not Hunger? Hunger is the only one of McQueen's films I'd put on the list.

I'd take off all the Pixar except Nemo. Pixar's movies probably split the vote. If you took off all the other films that the critics are fools to like (WallE and Rat Movie) Nemo would probably be in the top 10 where it belongs.

I own Yi Yi and I fail to see the genius in it. What do people love so much?

Once Upon a Time in Anatolia (Nuri Bilge Ceylan, 2011)

Great pick, but disappointed not to see Gangs of Wasseypur on there.

And plenty of movies there that I wanted to fall asleep to on this list (Uncle Boonme, White Material, Holy Motors). The latter is just a bit uneven.

My personal choices for favorite/best movies (Children of Men and The Lives of Others) are there, so it's good.

Sad my third, Snatch., didn't make it.

Lots of Pixar love but no The Incredibles? Sorry, fail.

Shoot, the Toy Story sequels deserve to be there as well.

Re: BBC's Top 100 films of the 21st Century (so far)

Spring Breakers (Harmony Korine, 2012) stands out of the worse film on the list for me.

But not A bad list.I watched about 70 from this list and enjoyed most of them.
I need to watch more movies from the list, but my top 100 or so would include.

Memories of Murder (2003)
Casino Royale (2006)
Irreversible (2002)
American Psycho (2000)since they are including 2000

Damn, nothing by Denis Villeneuve or Nicolas Winding Refn. Only one film by Claire Denis, David Cronenberg, Darren Aronofsky, Pedro Almodovar and Kim Ki-duk, each of whom could easily have 3.

Seen 76 of the 100. Not a bad list all around. There are a fair number of omissions I felt should have been included. But you only have 100 spots, so what can you do.

Was really happy to see both Zodiac and Lost In Translation made the list and are both placed so well.

A couple grips:

The New World and The Tree of Life should switch rankings.

Before Sunset and Boyhood should switch rankings.

The Dark Knight and Goodbye to Language should not have ranked.

There are very few straight ahead comedies listed. Which is unfortunate.

Women directors only got 9–12 spots, depending on how you count.
