Re: Summer of Reverse Sheep Continues -- Double-Oh Sheep: The James Bond Edition
An answer that nobody gave, which I finally would have scored a unique had I been playing ...
Jeremy Bulloch actually played two characters in James Bond movies ...
"He appears as Smithers, one of the demonstrators in Q's workshop in For Your Eyes Only and is also seen as Andrews in Octopussy."
And two characters in Star Wars ...
Boba Fett and ...

Count Dooku ... for all your whining and bitching in this game ... you get to be an answer!
In The Man With the Golden Gun he had three nipples and in the Star Wars prequels he was named after poop ...

Re: Summer of Reverse Sheep Continues -- Double-Oh Sheep: The James Bond Edition
OK, I am going to take a pause and ask for some advice on this one ... I should have looked at these answers ahead of time, so I apologize. Not a lot of time to chime in, but whoever can do so please offer your advice.
The next question is the gadget question. Should I consider answers to be matches if they are not exact? For example (and nobody gave this one so I am going to use it):
Shoes with the knife blade in the toe
Shoes
Rocket powered shoes that make you fly
They all said "shoes" but one person gave no specifics, two others gave different reasons.
Match or no?

I'm pleased to see Count Dooku actually picked Count Dooku
Hopefully scores for the next question are low. Admittedly, I did not pick anywhere near the coolest gadget in Bond's arsenal. I drew a brain blank and could only come up with what was probably the last gadget used in the most recent movie

Back in post #268, Abob Teff wrote this:
Question #13 is a Reverse, and the question does not open up the parameters of what a Bond film is to include 1967 Casino Royale or Never Say Never Again.
By Abob Teff's own declaration of what counts as an official Bond film, the answers Max Von Sydow and David Prowse are incorrect.
OK ... I've been sitting back and reading the arguments posted. The question asks for another character from the fictional world of espionage. The hint attached clarifies that answers for this question can come from outside the parameters set forth in the game rules (i.e., the "core 24" Bond films, theatrically released films).

1 and 3 are not matches. They're clearly describing different things. The "shoes" answer is harder to call.

Re: Summer of Reverse Sheep Continues -- Double-Oh Sheep: The James Bond Edition
Yeah, and I think shoes can't match either of them. The answer is so vague that it's not really fair to reward it. Otherwise, you'll have to match all shoe answers, all watch answers, etc. And I don't think that's what should happen.

No match on the shoes. One is not specific enough and the other 2 are different.

Re: Summer of Reverse Sheep Continues -- Double-Oh Sheep: The James Bond Edition
Though the game specific rules (that apply to all questions) states: "Only theatrically released James Bond movies are eligible for answers.". It doesn't only allow the "core" 24 (although it's true the wording of that later question makes it a little confusing).

Re: Summer of Reverse Sheep Continues -- Double-Oh Sheep: The James Bond Edition
Shoes with a knife and shoes that make you fly are not the same thing and cannot be a match.
If you match just shoes with anything (and I wouldn't because the person should have been more specific) it should be the rocket shoes because that is a gadget that Bond used, or a "Bond gadget"

Re: Summer of Reverse Sheep Continues -- Double-Oh Sheep: The James Bond Edition
I quoted the sheepmaster explaining that only the core 24 are eligible films.
From post #237
Here is the question: 6.) REVERSE: Name another famous “J.B.” from the fictional world of espionage (hint: from material outside the Bond universe and mediums other than film are acceptable)
The wording does not exclude the "worlds" of James Bond, it just provides that answers from outside of the "Broccoli Bond movie-verse" are acceptable. I don't consider the answers given to be in "the" James Bonds universe, so I think they are good answers. The "James Bonds" in question are not the same Bond played by Connery, Lazenby, Moore, Dalton, Brosnan, and Craig.

I know. It's just that there's no mention in the first post of the thread that the answers have to be from the "core 24" (just that they're theatrically released). Abob only mentions that later in the thread, after everyone submitted answers.

You know I am just enjoying tormenting you, right?
Count Dooku is correct, I did reference the core 24 ... however brainee is correct that it was not part of the game rules and I misspoke in the quote Dooku posted.
