It was cool and someone mention it earlier... the bite did not match the size of the shark. That is the only real issue with it. Otherwise, it was entertaining.

I enjoyed this one.
My teenage daughter isn't a huge fan of horror films, but she's seen Jaws and liked it, so she reluctantly agreed to check this one out with me. We got to to the theater early and she ended up being more terrified of the 6-7 trailers for upcoming horror films coming out.

One other thing: Blake wants to know the name of the beach. Nobody seems to be interested in telling her. You'd think at the end of the film it would be revealed as "Shark Beach" or some shit like that.
Nope. It's never brought up again.
Again, such bad writing.

I ended up seeing this with my son tonight. We both enjoyed it. It wasn't anything spectacular, but it was an entertaining way to spend 80+ minutes on a Friday evening.

My daughter and I talked about this on the way home. I mentioned the same exact thing, thinking it would be revealed that it had some name that involved a curse or something.

If you're going to have filler, have it be great photography of the water and waves. I was captivated. Better than 5 extra minutes of bad jump scares (which this movie doesn't have).
I thought the movie was really well done but I wish it hadn't hinged on the main character's stupidity
That's my only gripe. The movie otherwise was very, very good.

I previously dated a girl that is the spitting image of Blake Lively, so I lost focus quite a few times throughout the movie because I would just think about her. I did think it was a good movie though, pretty intense. I did think the
was really over the top, but I'll let it slide. It was cool at the same time.
I also got a good laugh out of the last scene that took place in Galveston...which it definitely did not. Galveston is a very ugly beach, with brown water and seaweed all over the sand. In the movie it was white sands and blue water...haha, if only that were true, I'd be there alot more since I only live an 90 minutes away.
Anyway, worth checking out. I give it a solid B.

I agree with you in regards to your spoiler. I guess that's the best they could come up with but it is over to top.
As to the location for the filming, here's this from Wikipedia:
As to the location for the filming, here's this from Wikipedia:
Principal photography on the film began on October 28, 2015 in New South Wales, Australia. Filming also took place at Lord Howe Island. It originally was going to be filmed on the Gulf Coast of Texas near Galveston, but the filmmakers got denied a film permit for safety reasons.

Finally got around to this and it's a nice little B-movie. As has already been mentioned -
I thought Blake did fine - she's such a sweet girl when it comes down to it and the way she McGuyver-ed her situation made it that much more fun. The cinematography was great, as well.
I do think her screaming skills are weak, though. There were times where I was thinking "bitch, you better scream LOUDER," so they can hear you. In any event - it's a lot of fun. It also runs 80 minutes without credits.

Just rented this last night and I was really surprised how entertaining this was. Really well made B shark thriller. They really made the most of the limited resources and money they had.
Some pretty suspenseful moments and awesome kills by the shark.
I thought Blake did a good job as the heroine and what was asked of her.
The final showdown between Nancy and the shark was over the top, yet awesome as well.
The behind the scenes material on the BD mentioned this was shot entirely on location in Australia, which even included the last scene in "Galveston"

I'm glad I'm not the only notice to notice the beach name. Like others, I completely expected it to have some ominous name, which we'd find out about at the end.
But as far as I can tell, the shark was violent due to having a fishers hook in its mouth? If that's the case, it kinda destroys any history at that beach. Really made no sense. The way the driver looked at her when she was asking for the name.

Someone was talking about this movie on Facebook and they mentioned it had "so many surprises."
Now, I liked the movie. I saw it in the theater and it looked great. A little suspenseful...but I couldn't think of any real surprises. I almost asked what she was talking about but just let it go.

The surprise is that a seagull would have the 3rd-most important character role in a Blake Lively horror movie.

Would you rather eat a dead whale or a Blake Lively?

Just got a chance to see this. I give it a big MEH. The cinematography is fantastic, it looks amazing in HD. But there really is no plot to speak of, and the ending is beyond ridiculous. I literally laughed out loud. 2./5

Rented the DVD from the library to check out the extras. Didn't realize how small the island is, where they filmed. It was interesting to see the director talk about how they would have problems filming even the simplest of scenes. Just the scene where she's talking to the other surfers took all day to film due to sea swells.
