I don’t really know Godzilla lore. Is there a logical reason they make a metal version of Godzilla rather than, say, a giant bomb or enormous tank or something a bit more sensible?

Just to be clear, this is the franchise we're discussing:

Not really logical, no, but it was done multiple times in past movies and I am absolutely stoked to see it again.

I doubt that's an official trailer or even the official look of mechagodzilla. I hate these re-edited trailers that some douche cuts together just to get hits.

The original mechagodzilla was created by aliens. There's some theory and speculation that they are going this route in the movies.

I gave KotM about twenty minutes.

I think I now understand why some people reflexively thought this looked like crap when the trailer dropped.

Re: Godzilla vs. Kong (2021, D: Wingard)

I just hope the story is solid. A movie like this begs for some character round out. See Kong with some baby Kongs. Godzilla and Minilla. Some good character arcs could really bring this movie to life.

OK, looks cool but I always go to the how can a jet fighter not run into a huge tail and why do the navy ships need to be lined up side by side for another tail smash.

Los Angeles and Orange county theaters will be open as of next Wednesday.

Pre-sale tickets for the movie are now available. So I bought my ticket to see it Wednesday the 31st. So glad I can see this on the big screen as opposed to just HBO Max.

Yeah, my local AMC opens on 3/19, but since my first shot is Monday, my second shot won't be until sometime in April. I think I'm gonna wait until then before I start going to the show.

I would love to see this on the big screen unfortunately, the funds aren't there to go all out like we did with King of the Monsters. We're already paying for HBO Max so......

Godzilla vs Kong is the first in-theater movie I will see in over a year. It will also be the inaugural review on my newly minted Orbi-Wan Goes To The Movies website.

Now that L.A. is reopening I was able to get opening day tickets to see this at the Universal Citywalk AMC IMAX, the same place I've ever prior MV movie.

Yeah, I can't afford to take the risk (and being in an enclosed theater with a bunch of strangers is still a risk), so I will have to settle for HBO Max. Maybe. How long do these movies stay up/available on HBO Max? (Is Wonder Woman '84 still up?)

1 month only. WW84 is not on it anymore.

and it's 25% capacity and completely spread out. I just bought a ticket for this and it was a 125 seat auditorium and only about 30-35 seats were available for purchase.

As soon as you buy a ticket, the next 2 seats on your left and right will be not available.

Going to see this on IMAX, first movie I've seen that way in ages, very happy to get to see it in cinemas.
