My now twelve-year old daughter and I had fun going to see these movies and making fun of them while also enjoying them. This is actual dialogue from when we watched KOTM:
Me: Didn't that one have four heads earlier?
Madelyn: No, Dad, it never had four heads. It only has three.
Me: It should have four heads.
A shame we won't be able to do that one more time. And I really did get confused and thought it had four heads.

While nearly every movie has been delayed in wake of the pandemic, Warner Bros. has taken the unusual step of releasing “Godzilla vs. Kong” two months earlier than expected.
The legendary monsters will face off on March 26, instead of May 21, in theaters and on the streaming service HBO Max.
Legendary Entertainment, the production company behind “Godzilla vs. Kong,” recently engaged in a public spat with Warner Bros., threatening to take legal action over the studio’s decision to send all of its 2021 movies to HBO Max on the same day they debut in theaters. Legendary was frustrated, in part because Warner Bros. had previously blocked Netflix’s $250 million bid to buy the monster movie. However, the two companies have reportedly hashed out frustrations and settled on a release strategy that satisfied both parties.

They've moved it up to March and they still don't have a fucking trailer or tv spots out?
Do they want this to tank like Solo: A Star Wars Story?
I mean, yeah, it's going to face an uphill battle because of the pandemic, but they're just making it harder to recoup anything at all.

Moving it up seems like a strange resolution to that dispute. Legendary was worried about not getting a theatrical release so they end up moving it from a nice summer spot to March when it seems like there will still be a lot of theaters closed. I'll be happy to see it sooner, though.

At this point maybe they just figure that if you’ve got HBOmax you’re either going to watch it or you’re not. A trailer probably doesn’t matter now.Originally Posted by Josh-da-man

There are moviegoers outside of America.

There is no building THAT Kong can scale...

So what does Kong eat when he's in the city like that? It must take a lot of bananas to keep him going at that size. I'm guessing that Godzilla just eats fish and other sea life.

Probably. I am SO on board for this. But I would still take the ginormous fire breathing lizard over the massive ape any day of the week.Originally Posted by Abob Teff

I'm more intrigue by how they are going to explain the growth of KK. I know it was mention that he wasnt at full size in skull island.

I think a lot of us got fooled with the previous posters on how immense the scale was to be. But the convoluted storylines and sheer loudness of King Island and Godzilla kind of ruined it for me. That said, I actually like these movies a whole lot. And my son had them on repeat a lot last year. Needless to say, we're both hyped this got pushed up so far and is going to be on HBO Max.Originally Posted by Abob Teff

There isn't enough nutritional resources to feed multiple Kongs on tiny Skull Island. At least Godzilla can move about and find food. Originally Posted by csant

It's there just to present a "fair" fight... but Atomic Breath should still fry the giant Ape.

We never see Godzilla eat in these films, do we? I'm fine with some kind of "he's powered by atomic energy and doesn't need food" explanation. That makes more sense than him being able to find enough food every day. But we saw Kong eat in in Skull Island, so that kind of messes it all up. The scale is just going to be weird in the movie. While I like the look, Godzilla is too big in these.

In the 1962 film Kong and other animals, grew large because of the rare berries that grew on the island. In Kong Island we see Kong eat a giant tentacled creature he kills; and we see that other animals on the island are large. Apes primarily eat vegetation but sometimes they eat meat. Kong Island in the Legendary-verse has plenty to sustain large creatures.

I hope Kong brings back the boat propeller attached to a large chain as a weapon again.
