Sure, I'd watch another. I would imagine Sly learned a hard lesson about what didn't work in the last film, so hopefully he doubles down on the old school talent and goes out in a blaze.

Would still love to see them bring in all the 80's actions stars.

I'm going to guess Dave Bautista will be involved.

And I hope since Arny recently worked with Jackie Chan, he can convince him to join up too.

They also need to get Kurt Russell.

Would be cool if they could some of the ladies too like Hamilton or Weaver.

I think I saw the first one. Never had a desire to see any more.

The second is the best, IMO.

The PG-13 rating and the stolen copy that leaked into the net killed any chance for success for 3. Plus IIRC it got bad WOM from those who watched the pirated copy.

I’m hoping for a Rambo style blood bath with an R rating for part 4. Stallone clearly learned from part 3, my favorite is probably part 2.

re: Expend4bles (The Expendables 4) (2023, D: S. Waugh)

I still stand by what I said earlier in the thread. The first two films are decent but the third is meh. Even liking the first two films for what they are I don’t think either of them exactly lived up to the hype in all honesty. I’d be open to a fourth film but if they’re going to do it and incorporate the 80s stars I think it needs to be the last and they better move on it fast. It’d be cool to get one last epic romp.

Honestly I enjoyed the Arnold/Sly team up in Escape Plan more than any of the Expendables films.

The 80's had some great DTV martial arts stars which I thought was supposed to be the heart of the expendables. The aging, long in the tooth stars of yesterday. They had a few but there are a ton of others. Don "The Dragon" Wilson, Jeff Speakman and Cynthia Rothrock were staples. At one point Rothrock had on her facebook page she was supposed to be in one of them. I know today's audience has limited knowledge of those people but to re-use only today's hot commodities defeats the purpose of Expendables.

Tell me that's not one hot 60 year old.

She was in the shitty Asylum version called Mercenaries.

Still need a Seagal cameo to have all the 80s/90s greats.

He's a little busy sexually harassing women and being Putin's buddy.

First one was dreadful, second one was 16 kinds of awesome, third one was ten kinds of awesome, so still a blast. I want more. Rothrock would be great to see in it.

Thats why I said a cameo

What about the Rock as the villain? That would sell some tickets.

Following on the pattern of getting a disgraced Hollywood star to play the villain, they should get Kevin Spacey for EXPENDABLES 4.

The Rock would be a fitting villian, today's biggest action star in the same movie with icons of the past. Only problem would be if he's too expensive for a mid-range budgeted movie.

re: Expend4bles (The Expendables 4) (2023, D: S. Waugh)

Take this with a grain of salt until something more official crosses, but Randy Couture was quoted as saying they will start filming this August.

http://www.thearnoldfans.com/news/20...-triplets.html

TheArnoldFans just got confirmation with The Expendables co-star, Randy Couture, that Expendables 4 starts filming this August.

“I’m excited about Expendables 4," Couture behind. "Right now, we’re scheduled to start filming in August and hopefully we’re able to stay on schedule. It sounds like we’re coming back to Bulgaria, which is exciting. I’ve spend a lot of time in Sofia and Varna and I’m excited to come back. I love the people (there), I love the food and I’m excited to come back."

Randy also confirms that The Expendables 4 is on the fast track. Casting is currently underway and we’re all hoping for a rated R Expendables with Schwarzenegger back as Trench! Expendables 3 co-star, Rhoda Rousey, also stopped by and said hello to TheArnoldFans during this weekend’s International Sports Hall of Fame induction ceremony.

dex14, this movie obviously isn't coming out in 2018. Can you lose the year for the time being?

I thought the first was ok, second one was average and the third was pretty damn bad.

I still think this series never hit the potential it had. I don't have a problem with one more shot.

Still no official news on cast or director. But apparently China has pre-bought distribution rights whenever this does get made. That deal also includes Rambo 5.

Seeing those pictures of Jet Li now, I don't see him being involved in part 4.

Well, considering how well bending over for China worked out for ESCAPE PLAN 2, I'll wager these will go straight to streaming, too. Seems Mainland execs will take whatever pooped-out American franchises they can get their hands on these days.

It's gotta be better than Kickboxer: Retaliation... then again, Expendables 3 was barely better than that turd.

What does the 2nd Kickboxer reboot movie have anything to do with this? Weird comparison.

re: Expend4bles (The Expendables 4) (2023, D: S. Waugh)

I remember being SO stoked for these movies after watching what Stallone did with Rambo 4. With every name added to the cast I got more hyped. However none of them lived up to their promise. 1 and 3 just weren't good. 2 was alright. I always thought it would have been pretty cool if they got Jackie and Jet to team up to fight some kind of ultimate badass younger version of themselves, like a Tony Jaa.
