Of the films they’ve directed that I’ve seen, I’d rank my enjoyment of them as:
1. House of 1,000 Corpses
2. The Devil’s Rejects
3. Halloween
4. Cabin Fever
5. The Lords of Salem
6. Hostel: Part II
7. Hostel
Undeserving of a number: Halloween 2
With the exception of Halloween 2, I find Zombie’s work to be fun, even when it’s chock full of problems. Roth, not so much.
I was very disappointed with The Innkeepers the first time I saw it as well, but the wife really enjoyed it. We watched it again about a year later and I liked it a lot. It's no The House of the Devil, but it's a fun little flick and much more enjoyable when you know the general tone it's going to take, or at least it was for me.

Agreed. I need to revisit The Innkeepers, because I think my opinion of it was skewed by how much I dug House of the Devil, which I had only watched a week or two before.

Roth seems like he'd be a fun guy to meet and hang out with for a weekend. I am one of the few people that liked The Lords of Salem and the Halloween remake. It's a tough call, Roth's movies are a little more uneven. Zombie was responsible for the terrible Halloween II.

Maybe if I read the book of Lords of Salem I would have a better appreciation for it. As it stands, I think it sucks .

The Devil's Rejects is a better movie than any of Eli's, but since the rest of Zombies' movies are so bad, I don't know who to vote for

Here is my breakdown of what I have seen of both:
Zombie:
House of 1000 Corpses - Love Love Love this one.
The Devil's Rejects - Good.
Halloween - Very Good.
Halloween 2 - Awful.
The Lords of Salem - Didn't like this one at all.
Roth:
Cabin Fever - Liked it well enough.
Hostel - Very Good.
Hostel 2 - Good.
Despite the fact that Zombie has two big misses with me whereas Roth has none I still prefer Zombie. The movies of his that I like, I like more than anything Roth has done.
Zombie:
House of 1000 Corpses - Love Love Love this one.
