SHEEP GAME: Summertime Fun Edition
http://i739.photobucket.com/albums/x...stecshilo.jpeg
Only two more weeks till September, so let's make the most of our remaining warm weather and sunny skies by playing some SHEEP: Summertime Fun Edition! The basic rules: Intro for first time players Spoiler:
General Rules Spoiler:
Game-Specific Rules To be considered correct, answers must be theatrically released feature films, no TV shows, shorts or webisodes. Unique Bonus: Reverse Sheep questions will generate additional bonus (negative) points according to the following: 1 Unique is awarded -20 2 Uniques are awarded -15 each 3 Uniques are awarded -10 each 4 Uniques are awarded -5 each Slam Dunks {sd} Players have the power of multipliers in their hands. Each player is given five (5) Slam Dunks ({sd}) which they use by adding {sd} to the end of their answer. Your Slam Dunks have different effects depending on the question you use it on: In Sheep questions, the {sd} adds 1 to the Multiplier. In Reverse Sheep questions, you can use your {sd} to turn the question into a sheep question for you. However, if your answer is wrong, it does nothing. Slam dunks cannot be stacked. Use one per question only or else they will be discarded. You cannot use two slam dunks to turn a Reverse into a Sheep and then slam dunk those sheep answers. And the questions are... 01. S: Name a super-hero movie released this summer 02. S: Name a country visited by Indiana Jones 03. S: Name one of the places the Griswalds visit in NATIONAL LAMPOON'S EUROPEAN VACATION 04. R: Name a character who appeared in all 3 of the original STAR WARS movies (theatrical versions only, and no extras who were given names and backstories in the extended universe). 05. S: Name one of the songs in GREASE 06. S: Funniest actor in CADDYSHACK 07. S: Name a movie taking place around the beach 08. R: Name a movie released during the summer that went on to win the Oscar for Best Picture (summer meaning May-August) 09. S: Name a movie that has/had a ride at Universal Theme Park 10. S: Name a movie featuring boats 11. R: Name a sequel Samuel L Jackson appeared in 12. S: Name an actor who played a masked superhero 13. S: Name a movie in which a character is eaten alive by something 14. S: Name a movie with the word "summer" in the title 15. S: Name Tom Cruise's sexiest role 16. R: Name a movie that takes place around a summer camp |
Re: SHEEP GAME: Summertime Fun Edition
Holy shit, the return of Sheep!
I keep thinking about running another game but response has gotten so tepid that I question whether it's worth the time. I hope you get good response--I'll definitely participate. |
Re: SHEEP GAME: Summertime Fun Edition
Thanks for putting this together!
It's been so long, I have to go over the rules again to refresh my memory. |
Re: SHEEP GAME: Summertime Fun Edition
I can do this. Let me just give a little more thought to some of the questions.
How will you do the matching for #9? Some rides/attractions are from a movie series rather than one particular movie. I haven't the foggiest idea for #8! While I generally remember Oscar winners, I'm drawing a complete blank for summer-releases. But if I'm reading correctly, a movie released in early May counts as a correct answer (even though Memorial Day weekend is generally considered the start of the summer season). |
Re: SHEEP GAME: Summertime Fun Edition
May is the start of the summer movie season now, because Marvel.

Re: SHEEP GAME: Summertime Fun Edition
Sexiest role? Really? Do you want a character? A movie? -ohbfrank-

Re: SHEEP GAME: Summertime Fun Edition
I had the matrix 2 for number 11 for 5 minutes til I noticed what I'd done.

How about this question? Will someone who answers a movie series match those who name a specific movie in that series?

I pay very little attention to the Oscars, and I had no idea what movies won so I just took a wild guess at that question and hope I am right. I also never saw Grease, so I took a wild guess at that question too. |

Question 3, are you looking for specific places (like a monument or building) or countries?

I was wondering the same thing, but he does specify "country" in the prior question, so I went ahead and assumed a specific place.

I'm aware of this, but I just thought I'd try and get Sheepmaster's thoughts on where he was going with the question. Also, to be 100% honest, I thought the question might inspire others to post hints about how they answered it. ;)

Hopefully scoring will be consistent (if you're going to match clear general with more specific answers). If not, can I change my answer? Because I had a specific place in mind, but I thought the question was asking for a country. |

Thank you Crocker Jarmin ... I was jonesing for some sheep! How difficult are these to run? I know I asked about an Archer game before, but I've been thinking a James Bond game could be good. |

I haven't looked at the answers yet so I don't know for sure how they'll be grouped but I'm sure it will be reasonable.

The hardest part is tabulating the score. I have a history of fucking that up, and usually need to be corrected a few times during play (which is always embarrassing). I'm planning to start doing the answers on Monday, so anyone else who wishes to play still has a few days to submit answers. |
Re: SHEEP GAME: Summertime Fun Edition
The funny thing about this is that I just mentioned on Tuesday that I missed sheep games.

They're more time consuming than difficult. You just need to be in a position where you're at the computer all day. I usually source all the pictures and write the posts up over the weekend, then cut and paste them on Game Day.

Crocker, I don't know if you ever saw the spreadsheet I put together for scoring these. I'm pretty sure it's still up at Google docs. I made it so that for each question you enter in each player's score, push a button, and have the current standings spit out in a little table. |
