I still don't get how Rifftrax is funny. All the shit I've seen from them is shit. It's like bad America's Funniest Home Videos commentary bullshit. Maybe worse.

Re: How Fox Can Salvage The Fantastic Four - Financially

you oversold it by:

-putting it in its own thread
-'phenomenal' in all-caps (and an out of place exclamation point)
-using 'brilliant' twice

you set the bar that high, it's gonna get crushed (and that's IF it was a decent idea).

Question: You had that gif in mind for something like this moment? Or just found something appropriate?

Even better when you look at where the bar is actually set.

Tell that to the hoards of losers shopping at the bargain bins in Walmart. I see people still buying DVDs from their, which i find incredible. I cannot recall the last time i watched a DVD.

You're obviously not a fan of MST3K.

I'm a fan of MST3K and I think Rifftraxx is painful to watch.

In what way? It's the same thing except mostly well established films. Yeah, it's better when a movie is bad, but they manage to poke fun at good movies. The riff of 300 is hilarious, and just amplifies how bad that movie really is.

If that's where the GIF was from you may have a point and impress me...but it isn't, so it doesn't.

Just a joke about the current direction of the thread for the most recent episode. The trainwreck nature of both threads struck me as similar.

It's cool, man. It was a play on a quote from the movie In Bruges.

So this movie hasn't even started showing yet and it's already been declared a financial disaster.

Just shoot some new nude scenes with Kate Mara and make them exclusive to the Blu-Ray release ("The version that was too hot for theaters!!!") and it will sell like crazy.

Re: How Fox Can Salvage The Fantastic Four - Financially

Honestly its time for Fox to just call it quits with this franchise. They've tried and failed three times with it already. It just isn't doing anything for them and holding on to it really doesn't make a lot of sense. I don't think they're likely to make a hit film with this franchise so if they're smart the best option in my opinion is to work with Marvel and share profits or let Marvel Studios buy the rights back.

But they're going to use it to take the X-franchise down to hell with it. If they can get past Last Stand, they can do anything.

This is getting made now because of the internet's reaction to the leaked test footage.
Thank you! I'm going to laugh my damn ass off if FF makes more money than Deadpool. FF might be getting slammed in the reviews, but it can still make money. Hell, Transformers is always slammed and makes a shit ton of money.
