This is the second movie I didn't recognize Tilda Swinton until the credits. She looked more attractive than I've seen here.

And a shoutout to Dave Attell. It was good seeing him again.

Took me like 20 seconds to recognize her. She was caked in makeup. But her eyes, jaw, and her voice stood out to me.

Always funny to see her in something that isn't more akin to her nature. Should be pretty wild to see her in Dr. Strange.

I dislike Tilda Swinton for reasons I probably shouldn't dislike her for. She's bizarrely ugly. She looks a ferret. Really good actress though.

And I think she's wildly attractive. She's not someone I'd normally be attracted to but her voice, her eyes, and body language is very attractive to me.

Re: Trainwreck (Apatow, 2015) — The Reviews Thread

my sister told me to go see it and how funny it was. I mean she sold it to levels of 21 Jump Street funny.

So then i saw it and it was funny but not as funny as it was sold to me. John Cena made me laugh and the ending had me cracking up but thats it. Maybe it was the crowd i was with because alot of people didnt laugh as much. I dont know. Sometimes the crowd in the theater makes it funnier than it is.

This wasn't bad. Very funny at times, but definitely too long. I don't know what Apatow's deal is with feeling he needs these things to run forever. All of the stuff with Ezra Miller could've been cut and they could've figure out another way for her to lose her job.

Schumer was good. I don't watch her show, but would check it out after seeing this.

Colin Quinn was great. Brie Larson is beautiful.

Amy Schumer's 'Trainwreck'
Theater Shooting Leaves 3 Dead

A screening of Amy Schumer's "Trainwreck" came to a horrifying end after a gunman opened fire on a theater full of moviegoers in Louisiana ... leaving 3 dead and 7 injured.

Officials in Lafayette say a lone 58-year-old gunman stood up in the Grand Theatre 16 about 20 minutes into the movie ... and opened fire on the audience with a handgun.

According to law enforcement ... after the gunman shot into the crowd ... he committed suicide.

Amy Schumer just sent out a message addressing the tragedy, saying, "My heart is broken and all my thoughts and prayers are with everyone in Louisiana."

Story Developing ...

From CNN:
11:16 p.m. : The weapon used in the shooting was a handgun, said police Sgt. Brooks David.

10:52 p.m.: Authorities said they know the identity of the shooter but are withholding it so as not to "affect the integrity" of the investigation.

10:45 p.m.: He is a 58-year-old white male who was a theater patron fired multiple shots, said Col. Michael Edmonson of the Louisiana State Police. The shooter was acting alone and is deceased, he said. There were about 100 people inside at the time.

There's a thread about that incident in the Political forum, but I think it's also suitable for discussion in the Movie forum- all politics aside, this doesn't make me want to go to another theater anytime soon; the general moviegoing experience has been severely declining already without crap like this happening.

Yeah I really enjoyed this one and I didnt know Apatow directed this until the credits. However I remember thinking near the end "damn this seems like a JA directed comedy because it's going on just a bit too long..."

Saw this yesterday.

I gave it 3 1/2 stars and would probably give it a B or B-. Mostly a been there, done that romantic comedy with a little vulgarity to it.

But, it did have a lot of laughs and I actually liked Schumer here even though I've never seen any of her comedy or her TV show. LeBron James surprised me here. He was actually quite good as Hader's buddy. They played off each other quite well.

I loved John Cena on this even though his role was small. He was fucking hilarious. The sex scene with Amy and the movie theater argument had me

Amy's sex scene with the underaged kid was funny, but a little uncomfortable to watch. That kid was fucking weird and I was at his really bizarre moaning.

Probably won't re-visit this again, but it was a good 1 time watch.

Mostly agreed with your assessment of the movie. It's a funny one time watch, though I'm sure when it's making its rounds on cable I'll catch it again.

It was pretty muted for Schumer material, I was expecting it to be a little more raunchy. John Cena was the MVP imo, he absolutely killed it with the ambiguously gay meathead angle.

Got dragged to this yesterday. I think I laughed maybe 2-3 times. I can't stand Amy Schumer and I pretty much hated the whole experience. Lebron was the saving grace of the movie I was surprised that he can actually act. Unlike Amy Schumer she was horrible in this. Apatow needs to learn how to edit easily 30 minutes could have been trimmed. I can't believe that this is going to cross $100 million. I suppose everyone will think it is because of Schumer and her dumbass will get offered more parts in shitty movies that there is no fucking way I will see.

Wife and I enjoyed this one quite a bit. Cena and LeBron were both very good in their roles. The whole theater exchange with Cena had us rolling!

I found this to be boring and agree that 30 minutes could have been edited out. It had a few good scenes like at the movie theater and underage sex scene. Overall, it was a snooze that I took an extra long bathroom break on and left 10 minutes early before it put me to sleep.

This is about to cross $100 million. What a year for Universal. Amy Schumer's asking price for movies just went way up.

Curious to see what her next film project will be.

just saw this on Prime.

liked it more than i thought i would. very humorous and some laugh out loud moments. i don't do that very often, but did with this. a little long, but the sweetness was perfect and this movie really showed all her talents. very nicely done.

Saw this tonight and it was ok. I did find Tilda Swinton sexy as hell. Amy has this natural quality to her humor I supposed, because some of the humor is quite fucked up but her delivery makes it that much more fucked up. I didn't even recognize Brie Larson. I don't think she's looked as hot as she did in Scott Pilgrim.

This was a library rental, so it was on SD as opposed to BD. It was fun.

Saw this recently - had some interesting moments, but holy shit was that dance ending awful. As well as the typical "put all my alcohol/drugs in a box and get rid of them" situation.

But yeah, I didn't recognize Brie Larson or Tilda Swinton.

Easily the best Apatow movie since 40 Year Old Virgin, but not as good as 40YOV. Still too unfocused. Apatow needs a stricter editor.

Definitely! I'm not a huge fan of Apatow's films but I think they'd ALL be greatly improved if they were more tightly paced. His movies just become too damn tedious, which should never happen with a comedy.

While I don't disagree with you, the two biggest laugh out loud moments I had during this movie were when Amy hands Dave Atell the box of alcohol and drugs and he says something like "Booze, drugs, and a place to live!" And when she tries to Dunk the ball from jumping on the trampoline. Bill Hader's reaction to her landing on the mat is hilarious.

John Cena in the movie theater was the highlight for me... other than that, this movie fell pretty flat.
