Well, not height matters for the role, Michael Gough was 5'9".

Why does Alfred need to fit a height requirement exactly?

I don’t think height matters for Alfred. That’s actually my knock against Farrell as Penguin though. I think if Penguin as a short, pudgy guy.

Also not official but I’ve been reading some talks about McConaughey potentially playing Harvey Dent. Could be an interesting choice.

I know not many watched Gotham, but he wasn't pudgy on there...

As for McConaughey, that came from We Got This Covered, a site I've given up on. If Variety, THR or even The Wrap (maybe) reports it, I'll take it seriously.

I just meant from a classic design stance I more picture Penguin as being short and pudgy. I’m okay with Farrell if that’s who they go with, he just wouldn’t be who I’d think would be chosen for the role.

I loke Dano a lot but I'm not looking forward to this film at all.

That is a sentence that almost never gets stated.

re: The Batman (2022, D: Matt Reeves) S: Pattinson

Up-and-coming actress Jayme Lawson, who recently graduated from Juilliard, has landed a notable role alongside Robert Pattinson in The Batman, Collider has exclusively learned.

Matt Reeves is directing the superhero movie, which will star Pattinson as the Caped Crusader, Paul Dano as the Riddler, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman and Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon, while Colin Farrell and Andy Serkis are in talks to play the Penguin and Alfred Pennyworth, respectively. Reeves also co-wrote the screenplay with Mattson Tomlin, and is producing alongside Dylan Clark.

Lawson’s role is being kept under wraps, but it’s a major get for the young actress, who is fresh out of Juilliard. She doesn’t even have an IMDb page yet, but she has signed with UTA, who will surely receive a flood of incoming calls about Lawson now that she’s in talks for a role in the hottest project in town. Warner Bros. has given several up-and-comers their big breaks in recent years, including casting Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Henry Golding in Crazy Rich Asians, Sophia Lillis in It: Chapter One and the impressive Kyliegh Curran as Abra Stone in Doctor Sleep.

While training at Juilliard, Lawson played Juliet in Romeo and Juliet as well as the title role in Hamlet, and she has also played Lady Macbeth onstage. Coincidentally, in a video posted on Juilliard’s website, she reveals that Catwoman is her dream role. Well, Kravitz may have won that plum part, but it’s still kind of amazing that The Batman is the first film Lawson has been cast in. Stay tuned to Collider for more details on her role as they become available.

Warner Bros. will unleash The Batman on June 25, 2021. For a full rundown of all the upcoming DC movies in the works, click here.

No mention of who he's playing, but speculation seems to be Harvey Dent/Two Face.

Peter Sarsgaard.

I heard he’s playing Rachel Dawes.

Had to think about that, forgot he's married to Maggie Gyllenhaal...

I'm wondering if Batgirl and that Adam McKay Nightwing movie are still happening.

Nightwing no. Batgirl I'd say is still happening as they (Warner) wants to do a batverse of movies spun-off of The Batman IIRC. At least, that's the rumor so who knows.
