Movies That Need a New Score
***Disclaimer: I searched for a similar thread to bump, and the closest I could find was a thread from 2010 about scores that people find "distracting." After giving it a little thought & perusing that thread, decided that there is a difference between scores that distract & ones that virtually ruin a film. It's like how Glen Campbell distracts me in True Grit but doesn't ruin the film. Hope that makes sense.
The Alan Parsons score in Ladyhawke comes close to ruining the film for me (although I need to watch it again to see if I've become more conditioned to it). It just totally takes me out of the atmosphere.
Which films would you suggest need a new score (or alternate track on the DVD/BD)? I'd just like to turn off the score to Ladyhawke and watch it without music, but it would be great if a decent optional score were available.
Not going to happen, of course, but which movies could be rescued for you?

Alternative track? Castle in the Sky, because it actually was rescored (by the original composer and studio) at one point.
Also, trying to google for other film rescores got me this:

A Better Tomorrow is another movie with a lot of alternate scores. The dubbed VHS I rented once had an electronic score, and there was a DVD release where the score was replaced with music from Speed, Forrest Gump and other movies.

Man of Steel needs a better score than just a two note soft piano motif for the quiet moments and drums for everything else in between.

Bad Boys II (yea yea yea). Bad Boys has one of my favorite scores ever. I think maybe the filmmakers didn't know how awesome it was, as they didn't even attempt to keep it around for II.
Mark Mancina was on fire with the 90's action movies (Bad Boys, Con Air, Speed).

The one that popped into my head first, as I just saw the film, was Neighbors whose score was just awful and more appropriate for a children's cartoon.

Forbidden Planet. That electronic 'music' was horrible. It took me partway through the movie to even realize that was supposed to be the score. I thought it was just some sci-fi sounds of space that the characters could actually hear.

The cheesy, synthesized score for The Princess Bride ruined the movie for me the last time I watched it. The music is so bad I actually felt embarrassed when other people came into the room and wondered what I was watching.

I've always liked the music for The Princess Bride but I would love to see the movie with a re-scored soundtrack that eliminates the cheap sounding 80s synthesizer score and replaces it with an actual orchestra.
Edit: Crocker Jarmen beat me by 3 minutes as I wrote my reply. That's what I get for taking the time to look up the proper spelling of synthesizer before posting...
