So how many of the Police Academy movies have you seen?

Just wondering. These were the comedy version of the Friday the 13th franchise in the 80's. They'd release one, it opened at number 1, a sequel would be green lit and it would be in theaters in a year. I actually watched all seven recently and it's weird how you can literally watch them get more stupid and kiddie after the first one.

Re: So how many of the Police Academy movies have you seen?

Four and a half:

The original
Part 2
Part 3 (In the theater)
Part 4 (Only seen the beginning at a friend's house when it first came out on VHS)
Part 6 (In the theater)

Haven't watched any since then. Though I'm sure I've seen parts of the original here and there.

I've seen 1, 2, and the the one w/ Ron Perlman. That was what? 6? Whichever one it was, it was always on UPN. What happened to that channel?

I saw all the theatrical releases in theaters, usually the weekend of release. I was that dopetarded in the 80s. *sigh*

Did anybody else watch this?

I'm assuming this was inspired by PA

That took courage, my friend.

I saw at least the first couple in the theaters---don't remember how many after that.

Re: So how many of the Police Academy movies have you seen?

How do you all remember specifics of when and where and what exactly you saw?

I've seen thousands of films in theaters but 95% of them I couldn't tell you now whether it was in theater or on home video.

But anyway, I think I saw the first four then gave up. But I wouldn't put it past me to watch all 7 in a row someday.

I've seen the first five; first rented on VHS (bought the DVD at Big Lots for $3) and saw 2-5 on HBO.

Don't think I ever watched 6 or 7.

Re: So how many of the Police Academy movies have you seen?

Sadly, all of them.

Though after part 3 they all just blend in to a cinematic mush of shit and I couldn't tell you much about any of them. I remember hot air balloons (I think that was 4) and one with a mysterious crime boss silhouette (that was 5 or 6). Past that, I couldn't tell you a thing about the last 4.

The best thing about any of them was the theme music.

Re: So how many of the Police Academy movies have you seen?

Seen all of them and own all of them on DVD.

Never watched the syndicated TV series though.

1-3 were the best. 4 was okay since it was Steve Guttenberg's last one. The rest were watchable to some extent.

I was a little pissed when 3 was rated PG.

Re: So how many of the Police Academy movies have you seen?

I'm not sure I can recall. More than 2 and less than all 7 is the best answer I can give.

Re: So how many of the Police Academy movies have you seen?

I've seen the first 5. 5 was such a letdown (even for PA) that I just didn't care after that.

Re: So how many of the Police Academy movies have you seen?

I've seen the first one (on vhs) and part of the second one on tv. I remember when 5 was in theaters and seeing the commercials on tv all the time. That's about it.

UPN merged with the WB and became the CW.

Watched the first one. Tried watching the second one when it was on cable sometime in the 80s and shut it off about half way.

I remember loving them, but what would I know? I was a dopey teen. I would go with my Dad, he used to shake his head but enjoy them in a "This sure ain't The Keystone Cops" sorta way.

I think I saw the original a few years ago and it holds up in an awful yet mildly hilarious sort of way. The sequels though... yikes.

The Blue Oyster Bar recurring gag always got a LAWL out of me though. PC it wasn't even, but I can still hear that horn intro to this very day...

Re: So how many of the Police Academy movies have you seen?

I may have seen snippets on TV but I never saw any of them in a movie theater and don't think I ever sat through a whole Police Academy movie on television, if I did I can't recall what I saw. Just never really had any desire to see them.

Wasn't 7 the Moscow one?

Re: So how many of the Police Academy movies have you seen?

I have seen them all, but I only really remember part 1 and 3. 3 only because it was one of those movies that always seemed to be on cable in the 90's. USA or TNT, one of those channels.
