While it certainly might end up coming across as overstuffed and gaudy, at this point I have more enthusiasm and a more positive overall vibe for this than I do Captain Marvel.
Not that I expect the latter to suck. It's just that Brie's line readings gave me pause in the first trailer and the second just cemented those reservations.
The only potential negatives I see with Aquaman are that the "prophesied hero trope" is beyond moldy at this point, and the length might indicate bloat.
I'm sure both will be fun, especially on first viewing.

My friend works as an events scheduler for Regal and they got a preview of it last week. She said it was fantastic and enjoyed it a lot.

Biggest opening weekend of any DC movie (made more than Wonder Woman did in its entire in the country) and biggest December opening in China box office history. The linked article also says independent trackers are predicting a $100M+ opening weekend (5-day) here in the states.

Well the production company gives many shits. And it boasts well, hopefully, to quality of movie. Sounds like we have a lighter, good, finally, DC movie. And I think the Chinese market is pretty picky. They won’t see everything, but surely helps WW gross...

But does it? I remember reading an article about how they did market testing in china and the two factors that audiences most frequently cited for "liking" a movie were the film containing shots of China, and shots of large wide-open vistas. They like judge movies by the location or something.
It's why starting around 10 years ago we started to see films take totally unnecessary detours into China, like Dark Knight.
As for CRA, ask yourself, if you heard that China made a movie all about Americans using a bunch of American expat actors and American-Chinese character actors, would you want to see it? Maybe to make fun of it, that would be about it.

The novelty of having an all (mostly unknown) asian cast in a Rom-Com is sort of lost in China, since they make thousands of them on their own. CRA is no different, it's just in English now.

Yeah, there's nothing unique about Crazy Rich Asians in China. Plus, the Hollywood films that China seems to love are the big budget effects drive movies that they don't really produce themselves.
