No real surprise but James Wan tweeted out that the trailer is releasing at SDCC (whatever date WB’s panel is).

I'm assuming yours is a subscription copy you got in the mail. Back in the 80's I use to have a Road and Track subscription and most of the time the cover would only have the magazine title and a picture; unlike the newsstand edition which had a bunch of stuff about what was on the inside.

Having said that I have not yet checked out the digital cover on my iPad but I bet the cover is not the same.

Yeah...the digital edition (which I also receive) cover is clearly different because I just brought in my copy for folks in the lunchroom to enjoy and indeed there was no mention of Kate Spade or Anthony Bourdain on the cover.

Aquaman reveals first look at the exotic Fisherman King
In this scene, King Orm (Patrick Wilson, not shown) has gone to the Fisherman King (played by Djimon Hounsou, that guy with the trident — and more on that in a minute) to enlist his help to declare war on the ocean-polluting surface world. There’s also the Fisherman Queen (Natalia Safran) and Princess (Sophia Forrest) on the left, and a royal guard on the right. Though you can’t tell in this shot, all of them have tails instead of legs.

First off, I've never heard of the Fisherman King.
Second, even though he's not going to be recognizable in this role, they cast the same guy for this and for the Wizard Shazam?

My question is: why are we just finding about his two roles now?
Also, I'm thinking they were in a bind to find a solid actor to play the Wizard Shazam after the initial guy dropped out due to scheduling conflict, and since Shazam and Aquaman likely had some of the same casting people, reached out to Hounsou to quickly come in, likely it was only a day shoot.

This movie is looking fairly promising from a lot of what’s been shown thus far. I haven’t heard of the Fisherman King either but the scene looks like something out of Atlantis or whatever which is neat.

Not particularly down with the Maori biker aesthetic for Aquaman. I know they felt a need to make him more of a bad ass, going back to the hook-phase in the comics. It just has a taint of desperation to me more than anything else.
The silver/bronze age Aquaman was a distinct character. This interpretation strikes me more as a riff on Namor - in all but name.
Other than that, I'm loving the visuals so far. This looks like it could be seriously fun.
Great to see a wide palate of color return to a DCU movie.

Yeah, I’m still not big on Aquaman’s look either. I know they felt the need to make him look like a badass because to a lot of people he’s been a joke character for so long but I dunno. To me a lot of times Momoa just looks like he’s playing a different version of his Game of Thrones character (and I’m not a fan of that series). I did somewhat enjoy him more than I expected to in Justice League though so I’m somewhat willing to look past the character design. I think when he wears the armor he looks decent.

They honestly look like a cross between the creature in Hellboy and the bad ice elves in Thor: Dark World.
